Hey all. I just thought, that when EA released the latest patch before 1.3, they said something in the changelogs about picking up dropped claymores and C4. They mentioned that they couldn't implement this in 1.2, but that it would be implemented in the future 1.3 patch. But, I can press G as many times as I can while watching a claymore, but I don't pick it up.

How is all this? Why hasn't EA put this feature in the game? Looks very handy to me, what if you clay an area crowded with enemies, and it's taken over by your team, that means the claymores are near allies, and everyone knows, that claymores and allies (with FF turned on) is something that goes BOEM wrong...

Anyone share these feelings? I'd like this feature to be implemented in the game pretty badly...

Well, I don't know about C4, but I know you can pick up enemie mines and claymores with a wrench.  If you're not engineer it won't work.  Also, the claymores are directional, so if you want to pick one up, first you have to see it and then get up behind it.

It would be very handy if u could pick up claymores... Example if u get to a roof and lay it at top of the ladders and when u leave the roof u could pick it up

Wouldn't work in practical use....

Who gets the kill when you pick up the mine and place it again?
The original planter() or the guy who stole his claymore and therefore the kill?
In Sniper Elite you could pick up proximity mines and place them again, but there weren't enough players around to properly exploit this.

But if this would ever be implemented in BF2 I would spend the whole round picking up mines and dropping them again, which simply means stealing someone's kills.
You don't wanna give the leet-haxor players another thing to exploit and abuse, now do you?

Claymores only explode if you come from one direction. If you lay down a claymore, than the direction you are facing, that's the "exploding" side of the claymore, the direction you are standing does not set it off.

But I would find it good enough to only pick up your own claymores, so you always have 2 with you, for example, you find yourself a good spot on a mountain, you drop 2 claymores on both sides where people could walk, than, if you want to leave the area you pick them up again for further use on other places. There's no need to be able to pick up all the claymores, just your own one's

No, you can't pick them up. You can remove them and let them disappear in digital-nowhere-land. You cant get a claymore as engineer.

With mines its a different story. When you drop a mine and want it back, just wrench it and its yours again.

do you get points for mine and claymore clearing?
nope, can u imagine the exploitation if you did get points, youd have server full of enigneers dropign AT mines which dotn d oshit to infantry and then everyone drops and wrenches the othere teams away and u have a few supply dudes to get ammo points galore and let the mine whoring continue
