Virgin Media. Only in quite built up areas, and only as far north as Aberdeen, iirc.

It's £30p/m for the first 3 months, then £35/m for the remaining 9.

Alternative is ADSL2+, which I also have, but only at 6mbps in my area.

Copper can only do up to a theoretical max of 24, and that's very rare. Although I have seen some customer who live next door to the exchange pulling almost 25mbps down the line. Highest I think was 24.8mbps.

You're right in saying that most new developments get cable, that's because it's so much easier to put cable connections in new developments. It costs so fucking much to dig up a road lol.

you do realize that you can only ever download at like an 1/8th of the advertised speed, right

i.e a 100Mb connection doesn't suck down data at literally 100Mbps. it'll be more like 12Mbps.

Yeah it's an 1/8th cause of the 8 bits in a byte. You're never gonna see that though, due to the speed of the uploading servers and the route etc.
