There's better correlation between happiness and not being poor than with suicide and being poor.

no, my point was... countries that are ostensibly 'developed' and 'happy', are the countries with the highest suicide rates and rates of mental health, also. that was my point. not 'suicide and being poor'. my point was precisely that material wealth and 'development' doesn't necessarily imply a better quality of life - it also correlates, strangely enough, with incidences of mental illness and forms of abuse. it's not one big rosy picture, basically, as you try to make out. although of course dilbert would like to say that africa is poor, miserable, and barbaric, and we in the west are superior in every way.

'data' is meaningless when you are trying to establish a WORLDWIDE MEASUREMENT of happiness. you could ask three people on a high-street to define happiness, or try to put their happiness to some 'objective' scale, and you'd get 3 completely random and contingent answers. you are trying to say there is a demonstrable WORLD HAPPINESS INDEX, mapped by NATIONALITY, of all things. hahahah. completely fucking absurd. why would i go hunting data-sets to disprove the idea that there is such a thing as a 'world happiness level'? jesus h. christ. do you feel like a 6.73 in australia? jeez you guys are really trumping the moody new zealanders, with their measly 5.314 happiness.
