Hope she enjoys her future $40,000 a year job.
she's an only child, her dad is a millionaire, her mom makes $175,000 a year. she is taking the next year to move between denmark (her home country) and work on her language/see family, and working for one of britain's most prestigious art galleries. then her parents will pay for her to take either a master's in fine art from the courtauld institute, university of london (world's most prestigious art school), or in a more academic literary study at oxford/cambridge. so yes, i'm sure she is going to enjoy her future - whether i'm with her or not.
the $40,000 a year job was the starting salary i stipulated for beginner post-docs. that's my career path. i also stated that very quickly goes to $100,000+ a year by the time you hit your mid-30's. it's a job with 8 years of training. it pays very well, considering the nature of the job is reading, writing, and teaching books/philosophy that you love. you also make a really good revenue outside of your university salary, adding a lot each year through book-sales, academic lectures, private consultation, etc. it pays well. i'm not worried either. my family also have their millions. we are both very well catered for.
thank you for your concern
