Hi fellas (first post after lurking for months!)
I've gotten really bored/irritated with the menu music played when looking at BFHQ, server lists, etc.
Is there a way to change it?
I know it's in .ogg format.  I copied it elsewhere, then took another .ogg file, renamed it menu_music, and pasted it over the original.  But it didn't play.
Suggestions?

I cannot connect to any servers anymore.  I think it might be because I tried to screw around with this menu_music file?
I've even set my computer to restore to a previous date, but the folder containing this file continues to have a "modified" date of 1/11/2005.  Even though I have searched, and there are no files modified on/after 31/10/225, it seems that the folder still carries the new date, because I *dared* to look in it.
I've removed the attempted new menu_music file, and put back the old/original one.

I've done what I can, but I still can't load any servers.  I can't believe this.  I am not a hacker, I was just bored and annoyed by the BFHQ's anonymous, inaudible, confused, lurching melody.  I tried to replace it with something more tolerable, and EA is not letting me in anymore?  There are (many) people out there with aimbots, wallhacks, no-fog, godmode, and countless other cheats...but EA is freezing me out for daring to touch their menu music?

I'm going to reinstall the game.
P.S. The irony is the BFHQ music is back, warbling away as I search for servers.  "Turn right at BRAVO!"  I get punted after loading a server, "verifying client data", and getting the "join game" button.

n1.  while reinstalling isnt THAT big of a deal, its a burn to sit through.  know you know not to mess with that stuff.  cant you just turn menu music vol. down? i dont remember if u can or not.

Okay, I had to uninstall and reinstall.
(I love how the 1.03 patch takes mega-longer than the actual game to install.  But I guess that's like the difference between buying an Audi, and changing out the clutch on it?)

It runs fine again, I loaded up an EA US official server.  And yeah, lesson learned, I'll just turn down the volume on the menu now.  But I did hesitate for a while about reinstalling.  I dislike EA a little more today.  And I hate that menu music even more now!  C'est la vie.
