Since it's all about the realism here, I'd like to propose a few changes to BF2 that would make it more realistic.
1) A single bullet to anywhere exposed automatically knocks your character to the ground, within a few minutes they start to go into shock from blood loss. Eventually you die. In real life being shot by 4 or 5 bullets is not something you can run away from.
2) It should be illegal to shoot medics on the battlefield, but nobody really notices if you do it until after the battle. In which case everyone on the losing side that did it is court martialled and cannot play the game again for several years. Also medics can only stabilise someone for medivac, once you're injured you can't play the game for several months. And in some cases can suffer a permanent disability/ brain damage.
3) If you die in the game, you are not allowed to play it again - EVER. Your install is destroyed, your computer is wiped and if you ever buy anything Battlefield related again, someone from EA will come and poke your eyes out and break your fingers. After all, in real life you don't survive death.
4) An artillery shell hitting the ground near to you doesn't just slightly injure you, it makes you bleed from every orifice on your body and places you in a state of severe shock. If you manage to survive the rest of the game then you'll have repeated flash backs during any successive rounds.
5) Claymores and land mines can be blown up by grenades - that's realistic right?
(Yes, this is a sarcastic post. Come on guys, we're talking about a game here. Balance issues will always conflict between fact and fiction. Where else can you storm onto a battlefield with some of the most destructive ordnance of the modern world and happily blast like minded individuals from around the world. I enjoy this game 90% of the time, and sure there are things I don't like. But it's still a blast, same as the day I bought it).
Oh and you're welcome to add to these rules, and/ or karma me in any direction you want.
