I have always owned Intel based systems, never AMD, the system will be used mainly for gaming, the Arma2 mod DayZ inparticular.

The AMD system is good value, you may want to have a look at this article http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/pentium-g … 32974.html
Similar Intel processor at a good price and it outperforms the AMD and definately try and get 8g of ram.

In regards to the graphics card, here's another article: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gam … 107-2.html
Although the Nvidia you linked is new, and I can't seem to find any reviews of yet, so might be something to look again when you do get round to making a gfx card purchase.

the last configuration looks okay, prototype, the components are all good value, save the videocard. i'd say you may as well keep your 9800gt for now and wait till you can afford at least a gtx 750.

Agreed tbh, try to save a bit more and spned it on a better gfx card, although as the gfx card article I posted shows the AMD cards offer better value at that price range.

hey guys,

one more quick question,
the cpu i bought says that it supports DDR3 - 1333MHz ram but I bought DDR3 - 1600 Ram, are they gonna work together ?

the cpu i bought is this, in the description is says supports ddr3 1333
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KPRWAZQ/ref … 00_TE_item

and the ram i bought is this
http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Ballistix … B006WAGGUK

also in some places it says the cpu i bought has 2 cores and other places it says it has 4 cores, how many cores does it actually have ?

thanks again for all the help and info guys

Yes. Faster RAM is not a problem. It'll just run @ 1333MHz.

The CPU is a dual core (i.e. 2) part. For more info see the Intel spec page

ok thanks max

how hard is it to over clock that cpu, someone said i could OC to i5 or even i7 specs

i consider myself an average techie but ive never OC'ed anything before and I would be scared to fry it unless its easy and safe to do

That processor is easy to overclock that's the sort of the point of it. It's relatively easy to do so don't worry.
Too late for me to go into detail now I'll have look tomorrow and post some guides if no else does.

How many frames per second could he get in call of duty if he used this with a 9800 gx2? Over a hundred?
