Once I'd have said this server was a fun place to play, with fairness and teamwork all round, but after being killed on Mass Destruction 5-6 times in a row by a claywhoring ESOE member/admin (for those amongst you who are familiar with Trebor/Bassets Liquorice Allsorts his name has the mascots name in it), and seeing others receive the same treatment when attempting to take that flag, I called him out with: 'Nice to see that ESOE members claywhore too'
His response? 'your point?'
Mine: 'it was fairly straightforward'
'I called you a claywhore, for claywhoring, did you happen to get any help inputting your cd-key?'
I was then banned with no input reason. (1st ban, and for calling out a corrupt admin, Badge of Honour FTW)
Edit: Darn, looks like it was a temp ban, still, I typed this all out, so it'd be a shame not to post it.
I don't really view this as a rant or complaint, as there are other servers to play, but I feel that an admin who claywhores and then bans someone for being pissed off that he claywhores, when other people get told not to, is sufficient reason to alert people that this server has rules, but US v THEM != subject to the same rules.
And to any ESOE member who stumbles on here, go on, ban me for life. Then I don't forget somewhere down the line and log onto your server. If I offended yer boy so badly by calling him what he was, and then suggesting he might not be the brightest bulb 'somewhere in England' when he felt the need to ask what my point was, maybe he shouldn't have the power to kick and ban in the first place.
Anyway, flames, support, all other comments, leave em, unless you are friends with a Muppet called Ernie, in which case you already had your say mate, and that action spoke a thousand words.
As this is the first post, I'll reply to this one and not the other six or seven.
Claymores are a good tactic when tryign to defend a flag. I use them, along with thousands of other players. It's good when defending Hotel on Karkand for example, place one by thr ladderm one by the stairs, two inevitable kills. So, what happens if you get the kills, place more? Or stop because someone doesn't liek having to wait out a 15 second respawn?
I think you clearly fail to witness the other perspectives. Such would be getting the Explosive Ordanence badge, you need a good amoutn of kills with the claymore, so, go figure that he would try to go and get lots of kills with, yep you guessed it, the claymore!
Here's what I ask, if you keep dying in that spot from the same guy using the same tactic, why did you go back? I think you need to calm down and point the finger at yourself. If you have the brains to go back to the SAME spot every time and die from the same method, then obviously it's your own fault for not saying, "Gee, I keep dying RIGHT there, by a claymore...maybe I should turn around and go to the next CP?" Did that ever cross your mind? Of course not...
About the rules arguement.
The Admin may have made the Claywhoring rule to try and stop it, but as we all generally know, rules get broken...a lot. So what if the guy breaks a claywhoring rule, are you unable to hit "Esc" and click on "Disconnect"? I think you have no one else to blame but yourself for this one. If you rant about a server rule, which everyone at some point has broken, then try better next time, escpicially with such a stupid rule as Claywhoring. The guy can only lay down 2 at a time, it's not liek he's sitting there with a Support guy hucking nades down on you...
If anything, I think you need to point the finger at yourself, wise up a bit, and get on with life. So what if you got banned, is there not 1000+ other servers to join? Making a deal about ONE of those 1000+ servers is kind of childish if you ask me. Of course server admins will abuse rules from time to time, who cares, just join a different server, it's not hard.
