800 Ping?????

WTF. I first installed 1.3 a few days ago and got in a game and my ping ranged from 40 to 600. So I Uninstall and then re install BF2 patch it and so on. I go into a server and everything seems cool for about ten min. then boom my ping is up to around 250 and I get kicked. 2 hours later I try one more time. I get into the server and watch my ping go from 40 to 800! in about 3 seconds and drop then go back up then drop. And of coarse I get kicked.

Why is this happening to me. I used to have an average ping of 20-50 and now I can't keep it under 200 for 5 seconds.

Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Might be coisidence, the lines around where I live keep getting fucked around with, my pings keep going from 30-200+, check your connections and if the problem continues, then.........your screwed lol ko, phone your isp, or the people who own the lines, that should sort it.

dont have that, but after the patch I have slugish gameplay, my ping is like 20 where I play and that doesnt create any lagg but after the patch it soo slugish and choppy..terrible..

You have wireless connection? If so try this: For wireless
If you dont have a wireless then try this: General BF2 fixes.....let me know if anything works for you!

I got a ping of 999 once,i didn't even get kicked i would press w to go forward then 1 minute later i would go forward,i disconnected before i got kicked i think didn't want to lag everyone else's game up.

I had this problem when the 1.3 first came out. My ping went from 20 to 1125 then down again. Strangely everything ran smoothly and I wasn't experiencing any lag. In fact I could play normally up until the point I got kicked.

Some of my favorites server's ping also is unreal (it changed from 100-200 to 5000-10000)
I haven't tried to play on this server with 1.3, but if it is only bug, I think, you could normal play on that servers...

I'm pretty sure it is just a bug for some people. It's possible to play normally but since everyone else sees your ping as 65423 or whatever, it's almost guaranteed to get you kicked.

Well I can tell that my ping is 800 by the fact that I start to get 2 frames a second.

i have the same problem only after i quit bf2 my connection is still crap when it usually runs perfectly.

I have been getting terrible lag where ever i go but luckily i have found a sever with my favorite map 24/7 with no lag.

i had this problem also, my ping doubled in all the servers i went in and my fps was below 15 : (

if you have McAffe Firewall/virus scan try this, Disable it and then try and play, sometimes after you patch the game, because you changed the content the firewall doesnt recognize it anymore and then proceeds in blocking it. thus causing major lag and high ping.
