That doesn't include DLCs though, which nowadays make up 50% of a game's content and life cycle, if you consider multiplayer games.
To me, this sounds like they have reached the final step in profit maximization.
I only play the Battlefield franchise from EA, where I got cheap pre-order deals for BC2, BF3 and BF4.
Together with the Premium packages of the DLCs, it's still cheaper for over the whole time period I played and still play those games.
Also, I got the less successful BF Hardline ~37% cheaper after a few months during an Origin deal that was stackable with a rebate code from EA Help.
