Thanks I'll try that.

The 'show recent posts' shortcut works temporarily but not after a minute or two. That may be the case with 'new posts', i'll get back atchya.

if you click that link after just going to forums.bf2s.com does it still show as returning no hits? That link only provides posts that have been submitted in the previous 24 hours. It may be something with your machine's time not syncing with the forum time

If I click on "Show recent posts" immediately after going to /index.php it always works like it did in the past.

In any event I've got it fixed (I think):

The link was "https://forums.bf2s.com//search.php?action=show_24h" but after you put that into the url it changes it to "https://forums.bf2s.com//search.php?search_id=##########" where the #'s are some (dynamically updated?) numerals.
I've changed the shortcut to verbatim, "action=show_24h" instead of whatever numbers I got in the url at the time of the shortcut creation.

I probably didn't explain that for shit, but the takeaway is its working now.
