it's always good to have perspective on these sort of things, but the US has a long history of government stability and peaceful political transitions.  I can appreciate the context and the message itself, but it's actually not a very good comparison.

They have way more time than that. GOP wins 2018 midterms, Trump wins 2020 election. 22 is the nearest chance democrats get to control Congress

i think making sure our voting infrastructure is secure is very important.  I think acknowledging the ways and means non-Americans can influence any elections within the US is important, because it better prepares us for the next time.  I think it's important to understand how much foreign influence was applied and under what terms because the interests of politicians (especially President and his close friends/advisers) should be America first.

Other than that, I agree with you. I think the non-stop hating of Trump is leading to a watered-down effect, where little blips like Ivanka sitting in for G20 meetings are treated with the same level of disgust as large stories like Trump violating FCPA.

That the Russians involved themselves in the election is one thing.
Its what Trump promised to do for them which is the issue now.

That's kind of been my point the whole way through. Trump is a disaster, but at least everyone knows it. Ever read some of Mike Pence's ideas? Or seen interviews? It would be equally bad, except he'd be better at executing a plan.

This is the first time I have been genuinely worried about this country under Trump. Half of the president's job is to unite the country and it seems this man has zero interest in doing so. I don't know what will happen when some leftist retaliate on some right wingers or another neo-Nazi rally results in murdered protesters. It is like the Vietnam era protest but with an idiot and social media.
