I've been listening to a Spotify podcast about The Clash and have taken another deep dive into their music. I really do enjoy so much of their work. Joe would probably have a field day if he were making music today.

I mean it didn't sound awful but I ain't making threads about it either. What did I miss?
it's a really early and rough EP of MBV but the interludes between songs are brilliant. flanger, reverse reverb, tremolo. there was a time i guess when guitar music had been so played out and become so prevalent that this sort of sound was the only way to go -- it's like anti-guitar, barely recognisable as such. and it's like an instrumental precursor to a lot of great ambient and electronic stuff that would come later -- it could be something from aphex twin's SAW II. if you don't 'get' shoegaze as a genre then you aren't likely to. it's like trying to get someone into drone or noise music.
