What unlock (s) should i choose?

Sorry to start another one of these "what unlocks" posts, but ive got 2 unlocks remaining and 4 weapon choices.

What do you think? I want something to keep me going till my next rank, which seems a long way off, and so i need a good choice!

Have a look at my stats http://www.bf2s.com/player/63657761/ and say what you think.

Also please comment on the following....
1. MP 7 - Kinda useless right? Underpowered and not accurate?
2. Scar L - Is it any good? More powerful than the G36C?
3. MG36 - Better or worse than the PKM? Less powerful but better rate of fire right?
4. P90 - Rubbish to start, but now with the new patch has it been imprved? Seemed to be killed more by it now and the AT kit needs summin automatic.

Well, looking at your stats - you dont really have a particular kit that you play do you? I would had said the SCAR-L and the P90, but you dont play spec ops or AT a lot...so Im not sure....

But definately make SCAR-L one of them...its better than the other spec ops gun IMO...

Thanks for the reply.

Of the kits i would have to say AT and Spec Ops are what i play least so maybe i should get the P90 and Scar L to give me some more interest in them (as anyway the other kits have allready got some decent unlocks)?

P90, because what they promised for 1.22 has now happened in 1.3. It actually doesn't leave you unarmed against infantry anymore..

SCAR-L and P90.

P-90 I hear is very good now, same rate of fire as the other guns as of 1.22 and they made it even better in 1.3

SCAR-L may have a 600 rpm rate of fire but it does more damage, has a red-dot scope for the PLA player, and has a faster reload time than the G36C.

Even on burst the MG36 can't hit a blue whale 50 ft away, then again I haven't used it while playing vanilla BF2 so I was using laggy SF to test it. A plus is that it has a faster rate of fire and reload time than the PKM, and a burst mode. It also takes 72 shots to overheat it.

The MP7 can't hit a blue whale 20 ft away on single shot, but I also haven't used that in vanilla BF2. A plus is that it's an SMG for those who don't like shotguns. Also has a faster reload time than any other Engineer main weapon besides the SK12.

MP7 and MG36. AT already has an automatic weapon, and G36C is better than SCAR-L.

The MP7 gives the Engineer some chance in a fight that isn't face-to-face.

MG36 has an extreme firing rate, and not too shabby at killing people.

MG36. I'll explain. The PKM has decreased in accuracy (brings back memories of 1.03...), and the MG36 has increased. The MG in the right hands is devastating and a team-winner. Take me for example. Last game I played on Karkand (just now, incidentally) I used the MG all the way through carving out a 43-8 K/D ratio! Just use it in short, quick bursts of about 4 bullets and you'll do fine!
Other than that - how much do you like the Jackhammer? If you are half-decent with the pistol and like the Jackhammer, then the MP7 is pretty useless. As you can see from my sig., I am a G36 supporter, but I am more used to the SCAR-L. I'm starting to really appreciate the G36C now, though, and so I'd stick with that (unless you can't aim without a laser-dot scope...). Finally, the P90. Sometimes you'll rip people apart, next you can empty whole clips and hit nothing but air. It has become improved now, but it's the same kind of situation as with the Jackhammer and MP7 (see above).
Really, it's up to you of course, but I hope you choose the ones that are most right for you and remember - have no regrest! Be confident in your unlocks and spend some time getting used to them!

Hey guys thanks for the great response (15 votes - more than some US presidents got!)

The P90 is looking like a firm bet now and now im torn between the MG36 and the Scar L.

Ive got the G36C and dont particularly like it (not very accurate or devestating), so i was gona go for the Scar L, but now the MG36 has got a few votes im not sure...

Any more comments to make my mind up?

In my opinion, the G36C is much better than the SCAR-L. It is more accurate but not significantly less powerful.

The MG36 is a support version of the G36 guns. If you like them, you'll like the MG36...

Personally I love the SCAR-L....if you want to try the MP-7 just hit warlord SAS engineer and give it a go..

SF is the best way to try out some of these to see if you like them before you "buy". I wish I had used the F2000 on SF earlier, I would have unlocked it before now.

I wasn't too impressed with the MG36 (unlocked but never use it). It might be better than the PKM now after the nerfing...unnerfing...nerfing with all the patch changes but haven't used it very much.

Looks like you are a rounded player who is trying to spread their time around...(you have better stats than me for relatively comparable time spent, althought I have a bit less time).

So I would say SCAR-L, followed by P90, followed by MP-7 followed by MG36 (unless you like support which it seems you do then I would jump this up to #2).

The P90 is looking like a sure bet and im starting to wave towards the SCAR L (as i hope it will revive my interest in the Spec Ops class).

(The Scar L is always inerior to the G36 imo and the P90 doesn't really cut it either...)

If you like using the G36 guns, don't get the SCAR-L. I found it horrible. No-where near enough accuracy after the first bullet in auto-fire. Not bad in single-shot, but if I'm doing that I should be playing as a sniper or maybe a medic with an L85.

Personally, I love the MP7. The rate of fire and big clip means you can rip through 2-3 people in close quarters. It's wonderful for the tight areas of Karkand or Warlord. It doesn't really have range, but it's still better than the shotguns. It gives you a non-shotgun option for the engineer, if you feel like a break. Also, it sounds awesome.

I haven't used the P-90 much. It's not hugely better than the MP-5 and other basic SMG's for the AT, and the DAO-12 is better anyway.

The MG-36 is great. Better rate of fire than the PKM makes it very good for close-quarters. While not as rapid firing as the RPK, it's better for long range. An excellent all-rounder.

I'd go for MP7 and MG36, if I were you.

They're right, the P90 does sound cooler, lol. It has a deeper sound and the shooting sound is now actually aligned to the number of bullets the gun just fired.

I have the scar-l and the p90. I hate the scar-l. I was extremely disappointed when I first used it. Too much recoil for me. I tried using it long enough to get used to it but couldn't. I love the G36c and G36e. Even though there isn't a red dot scope on the G36 you can still snipe pretty well with them, sometimes too well. But on the other hand, everyone has their own preferences. Some people like the feel of the scar-l, but for me the G36 fits like a glove.

As for the p90, it's better now that the rate of fire was increased to real world standards two patches ago. Like "TheDarkRaven" said, it's hit and miss when you use it. Sometimes it's dead on accurate for me and other times it's a waste of a weapon. I use it over the DAO because I have more long range opportunities when I play anti-tank. It has a lot of recoil too.

I've used the mp7 and mg36 a couple of times but not enough to comment on them.
