many major issues do not make the daily news every day. does that mean many people aren't working on them, and that it isn't a well known public issue? what are you, a gnat? do you need daily reminders? you are expressing the worst tendencies of the modern attention span, with the idea that because something isn't in the news that day, it can't exist. the world is not the news cycle.
there seems to be a pretty regular churn about it, if only you'd search:
