C4 Glitch - C4 Improvements

OK, 3 things here:

1. After you throw a pack of c4 and quick switch to detonate, does it switch back, and then start throwing more c4?????????

2. Why does c4 detonate when you put it on vehicles, and the vehicle blows up (without pushing the button)????????????

3. Why on the last package of c4 does it auto blow up???????? All you have to do is hold the button down

The other day i was playing Clean Sweep and someone came to steal my jet.(I was spec ops). I heard the jet start the engines... so i threw 2 packs of c4 on the runway. I quickly switched to detonate.... and bam... he starts thowing more c4???? OMFG was i mad. By the time i got to detonate... he was off the runway, and c4 was at my feet. So I got a "no more".

Just courious... why cant he THROW c4 at a distance??? Should he not be able to throw c4, maybe by holding the button??????

Applications maybe a hilo is just over your head, and out of tossing range, and if you threw it then it would be good. Or when someone is up in a 2 story building. And other various applications.

I get that thing too, where you toss a charge and switch to detonator really fast, it switches back to the charges and throws another instead. It pisses me off so much, but it's cause is lag, not a glitch. So there's really not much for it except to give it a second after you switch to the detonator to make sure the game registered it.

well c4 wasnt exactly meant to be thrown so why add it. and yeah several people have the same problem switching between c4/detonate, sniper scope if you search the forums you can find alot of information on why this. and almost nothing on how to fix it lol

The general consensus is that it's primarily caused by lag . . .

But those people that are obsessed with "realistic" weapon features can take comfort in the fact that the use of explosives in combat is somewhat problematic, so "bad" detonators and "short fuses" are just part of the risk factor.

Just chalk it up to "realism" . . .

It's nice to know you're one of those assholes who blow up friendly vehicals because they 'stole' it from you. (Assuming it was a friendly, you didn't say). And why do you say 'he'. It's confusing when people talk in 3rd person.

OK... so it is lag. But how can there be that much lag with a ping of 40-80?????????? That sounds like programming problems to me, maybe they need to optimize the the game for higher then LAN pings. That is a very good ping to have in any Internet server. There is NO other game i have every played that I have EVERY had a problem with that range of pings!

This isn't a lag issue or a game issue. The game simply remembers how many times you clicked the mouse button. In this case you probably clicked the mouse button twice without realizing it. Hence it switches to detonator and then back to C4 before you click the left mouse button. The solution to this is simply be careful how many times you click your mouse button. Since I play Spec Ops quite a bit and I know the issue you are talking about, it comes down to player skill.

LMFAO... that is the most stupid thing i have ever heard...

1. I PRESS THE BUTTON 1 time. This has happened more times then i could want to count to.
2. NEVER in any other game has something similar to this happened!! At least not at 40-80 pings!
3. IT IS A LAG ISSUE! I tried it in SP mode, and works INSTANTLY!!!!!! With that in mind, I have 40-80 pings all the time, which is great for online gaming, which would make it a flaw in the game, for it is not optomized for those pings.
4. .... EA "fu#@up everything..." *intro*

Plain and simple this is a flaw! (bad coding or whatever... something is wrong)

ping is not every thing, latency playes a factor in connection, latency of the connection, and of the server

as i said i have never had anything even simliar to this in anyother game! The same type of thing happenes with your greneades, if you throw it while dying, it disappears!

When you drop your last pack of c4 it atomatically switches to the detonator. Two clicks with one c4 pack left will set and detonate almost instantly. I have had this problem a few times. As for the other problem I cant say I have ever had it. My guess would be that the sensitivity of the mouse bottons could be an issue, or maybe the settings for how fast or slow you have to click the bottons in windows could account for this as well.

Its not lag based. It can happen on single player. At least in my experience. THe simplest way to avoid it is to learn the safe timing between switching, aka; the delay between weapon mode change.

Yeah I have this happen a lot too, and its infuriating.
I dont think its lag, I think its game programing, cause I dont have this problem with any other weapon.
Only solution I have found, is when you right click to go from C4 to detonator, wait a good 2 seconds before blowing it. But mostly I just use different tactics with the C4 that dont require a panicked switch to the detonator.
