Yes but really that is a weird practice in itself. Very few schools in continental Europe have these dress codes let alone 'boys schools' and 'girls schools' or the large amount of boarding schools you have in the UK. These are antique educational norms, get with the times.
there are some notable exceptions, e.g. eton for boys (obviously) and cheltenham ladies for the girls (obviously). but they are far from even a 'respectable' english norm, and more like schools for international elite.
