yeah, i play DoD source a bit more often that bf2 now, given that bf has become so much more buggy for me. i've lost 30fps (bringing me down to 10fps(!!!) on iron gator) making bf largly unplayable... so i've rediscovered my love for DoDs, and CSs is heaps of fun as well if you get on with the right people. if i find myself on a bf server since .3 its usually because i'm in the mood for vehicles, but not much more than that atmSmaug wrote:

but i got the silver pack (all games) a year ago... and it costs 60 bucks.. now it costs 70-80 dollars i think. but IMHO steam was a great system, ive been using it since beta times and hell it was annoying, but valve got some good patchers and steam pwns so much now

Eh, just yesterday, me and my mates went down to an iCafe to play some BF2 together, the place was great, but they capped their internet out because we were pinging 600 to local servers (It was new, so that kinda explains it) So we tried BF2 Co-op, something was totaly fucked up because we kept getting disconnected FROM A LAN!
So we tried CS:S, I thought, shit! I havent played that In a freekin long time! So anyway we started playing office, because that was our favourite map (Dust doesnt do it for me, too much like karkand)
Then some guys from our school drop by, we think, yeah whatever, and they join our server, turns out these freaks have being playing CS for months and months, so it was them two vs five of us (Bf2 players) and every frickin time we see them, its like BOOM headshot!! So anyway I was getting sick of the bullshit and kicked thier asses and threw a pass onto the server, we were also sick of office, so I started a new map, Aim_ScoutsKnifez_Bunkers, and holy hell! It was the best ever! Its so fun, sitting next to a guy, who is on the other side of the map and getting him or vice versa
But enough about that, my point is, CS fucks you up insanely, those CS guys aim'd for the head every single bloody time, while myself, being conservative shot for the torso, as I do in BF2

I would but there are 2 major tards I know that play it, I never want to run into them again.
I didn't bother reading everyones posts, so I don't know if someone has said this before. When I started playing CS Steam had alot of problems with it. Steam gave me the same amount of frustration that BF2 is giving me now. With BF2 you have alot of diffrent ways to play. You can operate armor, jets, helicopters, and jeeps.
With CS all it is is infrantry. Don't get me wrong, I love a great gun fight but for me CSs gameplay got so old, so fast.

Call of Duty 2 is complete junk compared to the original and United Offensive expansion packs. It's gameplay is very similar to CS's tho, except for the fact you can aim down the sights.
Day of Defeat Source is also pretty fun. I love the M1. Though I have to say there are a bunch of gay players kind of like in CoD who just run around with bolt actions, stop moving, and exploit the crosshairs tiny size to hit you from 50 m from the hip, then start running around again while they're reloading. It's pretty lame but it's so fun when you pop them right in the face.

Born of the Battlefield games eh? Well I's say I'm the opposite - I've played CS since the early days of 1.0. I watched everything I've seen going on in these forums happen in CS ones as it evolved through it's various patches to the point it is now (whining about specific guns/maps/patches/exploits/etc, none of this is new to me) and I believe it's still up there with the best.Cougar wrote:

-It's a lot faster than most games out there while not being a true deathmatch (although it can sometimes end up being that way...) and the action is usually very confined and intense.
-There's also a lot of variation by mods: Team Fortress Classic, Day of Defeat, HL Deathmatch, and more non-Valve mods than you can shake a stick at.
-As ever Valve is dedicated to supporting its games, I've seen problems in new releases addressed by the end of the week.
-Steam was a bit of a liability in the early days, but now I love it.
-The netcode for these games is superior to all others I have played online.
Battlefield 2
-I'm currently hooked, I can do so many things on one map and I love it.
-As a CS player the differences in gunshot mechanics threw me off at first, but I've gotten used to it.
-The scale is so different to anything I've played before, so while it's old to you it's quite new to me.
-Bugs, loooooooong load times and crippling power requirements don't really help the game much though.
-Looking back I don't really own that many EA games, but I'm pretty sure you all know the story when it comes to their support.
Of course I'll leave you to make your own mind up as time goes by, but for the moment, welcome to the world of Valve games
There's a lot more out there too...
css sucks, bf2 is testing my patience but i have always stayed by ea and the bf series..and im not gonna give up now
I think the HL and CS games are more 'pickup and play' type games, but i think that BF2 has more long term gains with awards and whatnot. But yeah the last 3 patches have been shit.

Also you people should try playing Americas Army, its free but the realism is quite good and the graphics are decent for a freebie, just think CS: S but more realism and teamwork involved.

EA suck way more then prono girls...no god damn support...patchs take age to get out and just screw up everytings...wich they will "fix" in the next patch. Bf2...is a good game indeed...but Cs:s win all the way!

5.In most Steam game: DoDs and Cs:s for instance...you cant be res-killed or a bit only,when you unload a clip of ak47 in some 1 face he is most likely to die...not just dolphin dive and kill you, also there is no plane nor helo...not even tank...so no noob base camper/raper.
6.The customization! How many time would you have wanted to change what Bf2 look like? Well you cant cuz if you do so...your gettin screwed again by getting stats reset or any other gey EA/DICE way to "make you obey"...In Cs:s...feel like using your finger as a knife...DO IT!
7.Cs:s and DoDs invole at least a bit of teamplay!! Wich does actually not exist in bf2...cuz all those little 12 years old are so narrow minded about their little virtual award that they got to screw up other people gaming experience.

And you can go prone and lean, if CSS had those 3 key features i would play it alot more. Right now it feels abit too simple. well yea -1 for me i guess, been playing half life mods scince hl-1 came out, you need to try natural-selection (free mod) and dod:s but get the dod:c mod once you have dod:s. As far as steam goes its one of the best game service's in the world, updates happend all the time and they work. However in defence of the bf2 bugs, cs was hella buggy in its early days and there are still tons of hacks for the game. Still if you look out for them there are tons of free mods for hl2 and cs:s so enjoy it.

See or think someone is hacking? You leave and join another of the 5000 servers that are up.
What I DON'T like is that when you join a server, sometimes they make you download all these gay sounds...But you don't have to download a map externally, it's build in...I love it....despite the sounds. CS:S owns.
