Turns out it was the server cage door. Someone had the key in their desk onsite. IT just ended up rebooting the system anyway. Why that took 6.75 days I don't know
I posted my own fwp in regards to a locked server room door a few weeks ago. I was going to call a locksmith if I couldn't find the key within 24 hours. MIS team at your company is lazy
Well, they're all 5 hours away in Chicago. But it is a mess. One I enjoy not being a part of.
Our IT seems to be outsourced to some indian guy.

Sounds like a crappy part of the country. Well over 99% of interactions I overhear in even convenience stores here in the PNW are polite (by American standards), peppered with pleasantries like pleases, thank yous, have a nice days, and harmless small talk. Or at the very least straightforward and nonconfrontational.
