I need help protecting my two dogs. They are small dogs. My neighbors who are African-American bought a pit bull. You know the "Breed of Peace". How can I protect my two small dogs from the aggressive pit bull?

It's a pretty difficult one. I do agree it's risky because of the tripwire like you mentioned, which is most apparent in poor housing situations and owners with no previous experience with those types of breeds. However, I don't believe it's a breed that should be banned, there are owners that are capable of giving them the training and care they require without turning rabid. Some of the nicest temperment dogs I've ever met have been pits/staffies.uziq wrote:
regardless of owner’s intentions, i don’t like the idea of dog breeds that have some hard-bred instinctual tripwire that turn them into insane roving balls of muscle and jaw.
Those dogs are just not raised right, simple as. It's the owners fault in almost all cases.Dilbert_X wrote:
The statistics the world over show they're wildly over-represented in attacks causing severe injury.
There are too many cases where the 'well-domesticated family pet' goes nuts and mains or kills people for no obvious reason.
Apart from pit-bulls 'Staffies' are easily the worst.
Not really but without a good owner they're prone to depression and destructive behaviour. Very demanding dogs that need a lot of care and lots of outdoor time.uziq wrote:
husky and sheepdogs are dangerous? never heard that before.

There are endless cases of pitbull type dogs, rottweilers etc being raised perfectly then flipping and tearing people to pieces.Larssen wrote:
