Does kills in a tank mounted mg count for your Ground Defense Badge?

A while back i saw some people saying that kils made by the mg mounted on a tank or jeep count toward your "Ground Defense Badge" kill
Now that the time limit is gone i'm wondering if its correct or not?

no only the mg bolted down not mobile count towards badge

What i do want to ad for people who use the search function is that
You have to be alive and behind a tow or mounted mg for the kill to count towards your I.A.R. recuirement
SO if you hit an apc with a tow (so that its flaming) but the apc first kills you before it blows up
Or if you run for cover before it blows THE KILL won't count as a tow or mg kill

the TOW missile counts too. you need like 5 for basic and 10 for veteran and i don't know how many for expert because I'm not there yet.
