Ancap like to say that capitalism is like the state of nature. Basically it has always existed and it is just what happens when people trade with each other. Of course this ignores the fact that ancient states were making trade treaties with each other earlier than the Greeks began to experiment with proto-democracy. Ancient Egyptians, Babylonians, etc. all developed systems of tax collection and market regulation way before they knew what to call what they were doing. It capitalism is just a thing that happens when people interact with each other then organizing and regulating markets is just what happens when capitalism matures.

Ancaps are a very peculiar bunch. Seems like most of them try to reduce economics into an econ 101 lesson where it's just, like, supply and demand, bro! There's no extension of libertarian economic thought that factors in behavioral economics, or market manipulation, or anti-competitive behavior by anyone other than the government. I can't help but think that it's in the same vein as people who want to promote "fREEE speech!!!111" so they can say racist shit. There should be no government intervention so I can tell black people they aren't welcome in my store!

It's usually promoted by people who don't understand history. Much like some of the other absurd hypotheses put forward by other people here.

I initially watched it in 2004 at the height of my interest in CGI movies from a technical perspective. Since then, I've been roped into watching it a few times with family. Knowing a character's name probably doesn't constitute "intimate knowledge" like someone able to count off the number of Wilhelm Screams in any given Star Wars movie.

Do you have an intimate knowledge of RDR2, uzique? Or maybe you could tell us where to go powerlevel in WoW.

I was interested in CGI because it figured heavily into a design course I was taking at the time. I still am, to some degree. It's hard to watch one of these movies without trying to figure out how I'd accomplish some of the effects on my own. I can get a fix checking out articles and commentary about the field and occasionally firing up 3ds max to play around in. You'd have to dig deep into your pockets to pay me to watch Cats 2019 or finish Avengers whatever number it's on.

Did you fight for the humans or the orcs? What was the gaudiest pixel sword you owned? You're like the Bloody Mary of cheap entertainment. Like if someone stands in front of a mirror and intones "ninja turtles" three times, you'll materialize to tell them off.
