As a gardener this won't affect me but I still think it's a good idea. Biden's wife is a teacher so she will probably push Biden to invest to help teachers so that we get an education system that doesn't produce so many gardeners and tree people.

It's a small relief that the economic hardship we are having today is based on tangible events and not fake numbers on Wall Street.

I mean we all know why everything is closed and people are unhappy. We still don't know what set off the stock market crash of 1929. The 2008 crash was related to the housing market but it's not like a bunch of houses got set on fire and that was the issue.

Should I send my child to Catholic School? I was looking up the tuition at one in the town and it comes up to about $600 a month. That seems doable for my wife and I since we will have one kid.

I assume Catholic schools are better than public schools due to the barrier to entry producing a school populated by parents who are invested in their children's education.

But I wouldn't want my children to go through their formative years around only their gender. That's how you get secret gays. Also I wouldn't leave my kids with a priest. A nun, sure. But not a priest.

I was a Jew last month. A Native American last week. This week I am a Haitian American Catholic. Ancestry.com said I was like 1% Iranian so I am excited to become a Shiite sometime in December.

New unemployment report showed weak hiring in November. The unemployment rate still ticked down to 6.7%. We were at 3.5% before Wuhan Flu hit. With a vaccine rollout in the spring and hopefully Biden making the money printer go brrrr we should be on track for a good economic recovery. We still should focus on getting former service workers jobs facilitating remote learning, deliveries, etc. Probably would be a good time to rethink public transportation since we might not need so many subway lines taking people to office jobs in the future and so on.

On another fun note, Trump is going to leave office with an unemployment rate still a point or two above where he entered office. That won't convince any R voters to vote D but it is still amusing enough to see that in the history books.

Well you work at a gay steel mill. Can't be that many workers who fit that profile.

There's a massive lack of good candidates, also a lack of companies willing to take on and train graduates.

Inexperienced people will make mistakes, how many companies can take the risk and absorb it?

So many people starting their career's have no experience of doing anything besides sitting at a screen, and there's no respawn if you get squished by a forklift.

Yes they make mistakes and they weren't fired afaik but they could have waited until the door was up before moving in.

Actually a 16 yr old at a neighboring plastic place died in a forklift accident. fell over somehow and got crushed, owners relative maybe daughter that's why she was there at 16
