Top commentsYou Trumpish Republicans sneered that Joe Biden was too corrupt and too senescent to win a presidential campaign, that he was one part mafioso and one part turnip.
That turnip kicked your dumb asses from Delaware to D.C.
So you rioted. Real smart move, Cletus.
Five Americans are dead. Barricades have been erected around the Capitol. Thousands of federal troops have been deployed to the streets of Washington. State capitols have been obliged to prepare for siege. Americans blame you for this — and they are not wrong.
“Trust the plan,” the QAnon cultists say. Is this what you were planning? I know you are stupid, but you are not that stupid.
“Oh, but he fights!” you’ll say — over and over and over. He didn’t fight — he tweeted. He’s ten feet tall on social media and a pushover in real life. Trade deficit: up. Unemployment rate: rising. Abortion rate: rising. Beijing: rising. The coronavirus body-count: rising.
But he sure did tweet a lot!
And he pardoned Roger Stone — at least he took care of that pressing national priority.
“But the judges!” you protest. Fair point: Trump’s absurd attempts to overturn the election through specious legal challenges were laughed out of court by the very men and women he appointed to the bench. Even his judges think he’s a joke.
Everybody has figured that out. Except you.
And so, goodbye, Donald J. Trump, the man who wanted to be Conrad Hilton but turned out to be Paris Hilton. Au revoir, Ivanka and Jared, Uday and Qusay — there’s a table for four reserved for you at Dorsia. So long, Melania — it’s still not entirely clear what you got out of this, but I hope it was worth it. A fond farewell to Ted Cruz’s reputation and Mike Pence’s self-respect, Lindsey Graham’s manhood and Fox News’s business model. In with “Dr.” Jill Biden, out with “Dr.” Sebastian Gorka.
Good night, ladies, good night, sweet ladies, good night, good night.
I’m sure we’ll all meet again. But I’d really rather we didn’t.
What a shitshow. I can't believe there's even a post stating 'what a vicious and intolerant article' - the whole trump platform was based on intolerance ffs?SuperJail Warden wrote:
So Jay and my favorite author at National Review is Kevin D. Williamson. He hates Trump and was judgmental of him his entire time in office. His article on Trump today read like a reddit post but was funny.

Good stuff
i've always found it outrageous what we did for the swiss at the geneva convention.unnamednewbie13 wrote:
The author is actually pretty funny at times. His takedowns and criticism of liberal policy/people is actually pretty good at times. He does call out the hypocrisy and double think of the right too. A lot of NR people get upset when Trump and his supporters are on the receiving end of it though. Much like Trump himself, his supporters can't can give it but can't take it.unnamednewbie13 wrote:
But seriously, isn't that piece really just tooled to the language and mental wavelength of its readers?
People who expected anything else from McConnell need to something something parable of the scorpion and the frog. I don't hold any special animus to Mitch M. He would be derelict in his duty if he did anything except obstruct the Democrats. Liberals would be apoplectic if Chuck S. surrendered to Trump after all.unnamednewbie13 wrote:
Wow we were on the same wavelength of that comparison. I made that observation myself to the buddy who sent me that video on Steam. Maybe if it was like a little kid frightened by propaganda, sure. But she's a grown-ass woman who needs to develop some perspective.

His snaky get-along speech is still piping hot out of the oven, and already here we are to the surprise of nobody ever.
She was pretty hot. She would make a great step sister.
So Biden is pretty clearly not the greatest at communicating. Probably has it together worse than Trump. But at least we know his administration is willing to spend resources on helping average Americans. He definitely isn't going out of his way to piss people off and be rude which is an improvement.Joe Biden wrote:
We need new ventilation systems in those schools; we need testing for people coming in and out of the classes; we need testing for teachers as well as students; and we need the capacity, the capacity to know that, in fact, the … circumstance in the school is safe and secure for everyone.
For example, there is no reason why the clear guidance will be that every school should be thoroughly sanitized, from the laboratories to the hallways. This is about – and none of the school districts I am aware of, there may be some public school districts – they have insisted all those pieces be in place, and, I might add, the same kind of thing I hope we can do with small businesses and businesses, making sure they have the capacity to test their workers when they come in, to make sure they have plastic dividers and – between their booths, in their restaurants, etc., to make sure they can sanitize. The teachers I know want to work, they just want to work in a safe environment and as safely as we can make it. And we should be able to open up every school, kindergarten through eighth grade, if, in fact, we administer these tests and it will have the added advantage, I might add, of putting millions of people back to work.
All those mothers and fathers that are home taking care of their children rather than go to work, even when they can work, they are not able to do it unless they have the luxury of working distance-wise like many of us do. They are not able to do it. And, so, this is about generating economic growth overall as well.
