More thoughts on the MLB: this culture war stuff really screws up our ability to regulate corporations. The MLB and other corporations I believe made the bet that Republicans will never regulate or tax them no matter what they do. Democrats want to regulate businesses and tax them too. But once specific corporations take sides in the cultural war, Democrats become defensive of those corporations regardless of any prior issues because those corporations are 'on their side'. I bet you there won't be many democrats making a big fuss about cities paying for baseball stadiums now. I bet people on social justice twitter are going on about "Baseball is the great American pastime."
Amazon is going to eventually consume the universe but as long as Jeff Bezos continues to promote social justice in Washington Post and annoy Republicans, the democrats are going to let them continue to grow. No one wants to regulate Coco-Cola because they complained about the voting rights law and Coco-Cola is the not racist soda. (???)
