a friend and i recently attended a LAN party.  he purchased a new joystick, and is letting me try out his old one.  it's a Logitech WingMan Attack (#863166).  i've seen the thing work but can't get it to function on my machine.  i will admit to be abit stupid about computers.

when i try to 'add' new game controller thru the control panel i get this message.  'your gameport or gameport drivers are not properly configured.  please consult the device manager.'  i tried stubbling thru the help window thingy but it told me that it couldn't help and to seek help elsewhere.  of corse it didn't say where to seek the additional help.  i'm running windows xp pro if that helps any.

help would be appreciated.  i'm hoping to lern to fly soon.  tried with the keyboard but that was a miserable failure in limited attempts.

I would try finding some drivers for it, I searched around the Logitech site but could not find a "WingMan Attack" joystick. Make sure you have the right name for it, although if you go to the Logitech site yourself they have pretty pictures to click on for driver downloads so you can just click the one that looks like the joystick sitting on your desk!
