that walking dead rubbish should have buried the genre for a long, long time. between that and the call of duty gamemode, christ.
I think pretty much every major comic book IP has a zombie variant. A few of my friends are major comic buffs and even they're tired of it. I guess zombie stuff still has a reliable audience though.
Remember the classic rewrites trend? "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies." They even made a movie of it. I would totally watch "The King in Yellow, and Neckbeards."

When are people going to put Dickens and Shakespeare out to pasture.uziq wrote:

Literally no-one cares.
Fuck Israel
I rolled my eyes at Dickens when I was in high school, ubiquitously assigned as he was. There's so much more to classic lit than that stuff, and I think people's expectations never really developed due to the narrow scope presented at school.
Walking Dead doesn't exactly feel like timeless material. Year 2121, Literature Professor Beep-Boop quizzing kids on who carried the barbed wire bat at what zombie campout. lmao

Did anyone watch the clips?

https://www.ign.com/articles/black-summ … lix-zombieBlack Summer is back, baby, and much like its harrowing, adrenaline-filled first season, it's still chock full of white-knuckle, bare-bones undead terror. In an era where The Walking Dead is unsteadily pushing past its 10th season, Black Summer has stealthily kept zombie TV ferociously fresh. It's no-frills, immersive fear, and anxiety. Minimalist without losing any spectacle. Impressive in both its fury and its quiet.
IGN gave it a 9 out of 10.
The Walking Dead is ending but they have two (awful) spin off shows. I never liked TWD. Black Summer is the apex zombie show. It is good in all of the ways TWD is bad.RTHKI wrote:

I just got around to watching the previous Black Summer clip you posted. Maybe it's just me today, but it felt like I was watching a recording made by someone who forgot to reset their zoom to 1x. Discomfiting pan.SuperJail Warden wrote:

I have no idea what's going on in that show though.
Thank you for taking the time.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Would you being willing to give Season 1 Episode 1 on Netflix a chance?
You're the zombie show guy. If you say it's good enough for zombie fare, I'd give it a go. I need to swap logins again though (I share Prime access with someone who has Netflix).
Thank you for your trust in me. It means a lot. If you watch it, please let me know you thoughts. Thank you again.
"Trusssst in me."
When has a snake ever steered someone wrong?
I don't feel comfortable with Netflix creating a show called Black Mirror and now Black Summer.
Trump zombies got actual people killed.
OK so I haven't been following Marvel stuff recently but for stumbling across news and memes:
Is Loki bi in the tv show now? Are people really mad about it? rofl

unverified story but
Someone on reddit awhile back posted a giant palate of Season 7 Blu Rays in a warehouse with a noticable layer of dust on top of them. Nobody was buying the stuff.
I agree with the poster that this was probably the most dramatic downfall of a show ever. The last two seasons were so bad that I can't even watch clips of the others.

A meme of Jaime tossing Bran out the tower window, only it's the writers/directors with the franchise, would be appropriate.
Resident Evil on Netflix. 4 x 30 minute episodes. I am half way through the second episode. Probably not going to continue watching.
I really like this style of animation. I know it is technically anime but it feels much more mature and grounded than even 'adult' anime like Cowboy Bebop and Gungrave.
The story is stupid or at least the trailer is deceptive. The middle 15 minutes of first episode deals with a Zombie outbreak at the Whitehouse. Then by the end of the episode they are on a sub going to China for a secret mission? And there's a zombie outbreak on the sub now too. I was expecting more Zombie shenanigans at the white house. Do not recommend.

who do they have writing that series? all of the writing on properties like resident evil, final fantasy, metal gear, etc, is always so batshit insane. it should never stand up as a ‘proper’ drama without the game element. it’s totally fucking mad. (resident evil and final fantasy movies have sucked shit, western writers or not, don’t @ me.)
