It's always nice when that stuff isn't a barrier for a couple because the other party's bi or something. But it should be understandable when it doesn't work out, for obvious reasons.
Telling someone divorce is in the future is mature, and is vastly preferable to dragging them to death behind a Buick because you "panicked." Maybe presenting it in the form of an ultimatum is a little sour though.

I assume this isn't easy for either of them. The guy probably feels like shit since his marriage is going to be a meme. Meanwhile the girl, genuinely trans or not, may need some mood stabilizers and somebody to talk to.
A lot of "gay panic" killers would probably have instead been very happy with their victim if they didn't let other people's judgement get into their head. Reminds me of one of the trans jokes Dave Chappelle made that made people angry. It went something like a hot girl at the club dancing and rubbing up on him. He tries to talk to the girl and she has a man's voice and is combative because she thinks he hates trans people. He ask her to dance to the next song. He eventually receives head from her since he was having a good time anyway. The delivery was funnier but you get it.

The directive was part of a letter Abbott, a Republican, sent Tuesday to the Department of Family and Protective Services, calling on it to “conduct a prompt and thorough investigation” of any reported instances of minors undergoing “elective procedures for gender transitioning.”

Funny concept here is that people who wouldn't trust the government under most circumstances will trust them on this.
Conservatives use the "don't trust the government" line whenever it's something they don't like. It's not something they actually believe as a blanket statement. Hell, they PRAYED to Trump regularly.

National Review article headline. Basically "we must have a curriculum that makes people proud of America". Okay, great. How does investigating gay kids make them "believe in America?"

IMO being able to face your country's darker histories with a critical spirit, overcome, and move forward all at the same time is a big part of what an ideal sort of national pride should look like. Sweeping every little uncomfortable or embarrassing thing under the rug and all this denialism is just pathetic and the opposite of growth. Fake patriotism, I think, fostered by purveyors of mental poison.
Not to say that conservatives never have a point, but it's honestly a little over the top.
MAGA was a perfectly vague motto. Trump didn't have to explain anything, and people never looked for an explanation. Reminds me a little of all that Hope & Change stuff, in that if you asked a rando American what even some of that entailed they would have no idea off the top of their head.
