I searched and nothing I found helped me...

I just plugged in my new widescreen monitor and moved my 19in other LCD as my second monitor...

Now when I open BF2, the splash screen comes up and then absolutely nothing.  Any ideas?

It's not your monitor, I can tell you that, I have a widescreen too. Have you tried to reinstall BF2?

Delete the profile folder in my documents and see if that helps... but take a pack up so u can put it pack if it doesn't

It might be 'cos of the resolution u had previously

My friend had this problem when he got his 21" monitor. Have a look on teh interweb, he had to add a small line of code in somewhere.

I have a 20.1 inch viewsonic widescreen monitor and move my 17 inch over as secondary monitor. I had no issues with getting BF2 to start up normally. AI also didn't make any changes as well. I would make sure that the new monitor is set as the primary in the display settings and try the delete profile thing as well.

This should fix your problems. Be sure to read the second post to understand why you are crashing to desktop:

I've got a 24" Monitor, and i noticed, that some resolutions and grafik settings just don't work. No idea why. My sugsestion: set everything to minimun, and than go step by step to find the optimal settings.
