I paid for Tinder platinum but it wasn't worth it, seems like all the good women are on Hinge. Though it is handy to be able to set my location in Tinder to Chicago and make some plans for when my friend ditches me and goes to London.
Meanwhile Hinge started out slow but since Tuesday I have 80 matches and 40 chats on go. I'm seeing a different girl Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

hinge is definitely better at throwing you in with good matches straightaway. just works better when you can transparently see who has liked you without having to pay for any sort of premium locks to do so (i.e. tinder gold/premium, which are an absolute shocking rip-off).
tinder and bumble tend to take longer to get your matches up, i guess because the raw numbers game is so tipped against the blokes. you've got to spend a few hours swiping before the algorithm starts to put you in the right ELO bracket.
i can't do 20 or 40+ conversations at once. i had the appetite once upon a time but no more. all the conversations blur into one, and i simply cannot feign interest. i try to keep it to 4–5 properly engaged conversations, and even then i try and encourage moving them to a coffee date or at least insta/whatsapp sooner rather than later. very rarely does a convo on a dating app survive longer than a 7-day window for me. there's just many new matches coming on and asking all the same fucking questions.

i think long term relationships can develop unhealthy dynamics without either person realising there’s been a slide into toxicity. can happen to normal people.
Last night I was at a party and my friend who is my ex's sister (two girlfriends ago) got drunk and told me I was 'the perfect guy' and gave me quite strong signals that she's attracted to me though didn't outright say it. She also has a boyfriend who is my friend and ex-colleague that I actually introduced to her 3 years ago.

Why do so many girls use group photos or photos of them with their hot friend on apps. Do they really expect me to sit here and determine which of the 5 people in the picture they might be... The hot friend one is obvious but surely they just end up with more matches that figure out they've been duped, or worse, end up on a date expecting the other one.

The group photos can actually be helpful. If an Asian or white girl has a group photo with darker skinned girls/guys it is a signal that you (I) aren't barking up the wrong tree. That, hoop earrings, and 'What social cause do you care about? Black Lives Matter" work too.

After she found a new boyfriend, she cheated on him with me too.
This saga started when we were both 26.
She is now also 32. I had to go back to college to get some professional credentials. While in class on the first day, I noticed a petite light skinned Puerto Rican girl sitting next to me. I looked at her and started talking. We both recognized each other. We were friends in high school. I still saw her Facebook profile picture but otherwise lost contact. She must have seen my profile picture come up in her recommended too. She recognized me instantly which surprised me since we weren’t particularly close in high school and that was 8 years beforehand. We started chatting and when class was over, we left together.
We went to Dunkin Donuts together and caught up. She made me aware she was dating a childhood friend of ours that I was close with but only when we were kids. I offered her a ride home and she accepted. When I dropped her off in front of her home late at night, we shared a moment of intense staring and talking, and I knew there I was going to sleep with this girl. I saw her again the next week and I drove her home again. While we were driving, I told her we should hangout together the next day. She accepted. I picked her up the next day while I presume her boyfriend was working. We went out for a sushi lunch, and it eventually came up that we were attracted to each other. We kissed a few times in the empty Sushi place. We then went back to my place and had sex.
We hooked up a few more times after that. I gave her a ride the entire semester and we would often make out just before dropping her home. After the semester ended, she went “no contact” with me. We were Facebook friends at that point, but my messages were never returned. A few months passed, and she posted a picture of her engagement ring on her page. The boyfriend that was cheating on decided to ask her to marry him. They got married, had a child together, and then divorced. I didn’t keep up with what she was doing after that until I messaged her a few months ago.
She had changed her Facebook profile name back to her original name and not her married name. I messaged her to hangout and picked her up from a job interview after I got out of work. We went out together and had a few drinks in which she explained to me she was dating some other guy. We still ended up kissing and went back to my apartment together. We had sex there after a little talking her into it. She let me know she wasn’t leaving the new guy for me. We met up together a week later and had sex together again. After our second time together, she became adamant that she wasn’t leaving the new guy. We haven’t met up since then.
We have spoken over text a few times and she told me “You always come at a bad time” and she is “taken.” We don’t meet up casually or as friends to do stuff together since it wouldn’t work out like that. I do from time to time send her little “thinking of you” messages that she reacts to. But otherwise, we don’t talk about the two times I “made a liar out of her.”
