i think these people don't mind the whole hitler thing actually. the vibe is shifting. neo-nazis don't have to dissimulate anymore. the people on the dilbert_x/scott adams pipeline are becoming less and less abashed about their weird eroto-libidinal fascinations with hitler and nazis in polished leather boots.
i'm sure you're correct, but it's still mind-blowing watching it happen in real time. that the people who purport themselves Very Educated on that evil, evil period of history also sit with their thumbs up their asses, willfully, actively blind while parallels are firing off one after the other. i imagine some have watched Triumph of the Will so many times that they've developed a soft spot for that stuff (for all they insist hitler & co. were evil men).
for others, i think it's party tribalism predating neo-nazis stepping more into the open in terms of recent years. i do get blank stares sometimes when i respond that if their hypothetical democrat politician is convicted of an imprisonable offense that yes, they should go to prison. can almost see the gears shift as they fumble for a new direction.
didn't some of these guys say they were buying guns and ammo to deter authoritarianism? that's what i was hearing through waco, ruby ridge. was that all just conversational bloviation?

Imagine being told your whole life that you're thinking the wrong thoughts, then you wake up one day and find the AMERICAN PRESIDENT is thinking those same thoughts.uziq wrote:

Most of these guys are buying guns and ammo so come the purge they can shoot their neighbours and classmates, or at least herd them into camps.newbie wrote:

Fuck Israel
uuuh, yeah, i dunno man. personally i still think neo-nazism is fundamentally bad and wrong-headed. not sure that a sociopathic quintuple-bankrupt perma-tanned sleazeball would validate or bring respectability to that worldview either.Dilbert_X wrote:

people are regularly marching through US state capitals with swastika flags and their faces covered. let’s just say that’s Bad, actually, and nothing good will ever come of it.
people on musk’s X now regularly discuss race IQ and eugenics. all this codswallop is being dragged back from the seedy undergrowth into the overton window. it’s disinformation in the same way any other sort of bullshit and propaganda operates. it has as much scientific validity as RFK’s statements on vaccines. nazism on the first go around was also full of these kooky beliefs and woo scientists.

It depends on what you define as 'neo-nazism' though.
Factor in that much of this is being driven and enabled by jews in Trump's govt - after all they helped put him there, and that nazism drew a few of its ideas from judaism.
'Fascist-racism' or something, with the jews at the top directing it all.

I think the Neo-Nazi marching in America is a sign of weakness, dysfunction, and decline rather than some groundswell of fascism.
These marches are much less common than they may seem in your media. The marches usually happen around college towns and other safe places. They don't march in major blue cities since they would get violent reactions. They don't march in the massive cities full of ethnic minorities.
...
Picking up Nazi iconography just shows you how lost these guys are. The Nazis lost the war. 99% of the Nazis victims were other white people. It is a political dead end.
Frankly the Nazi marching stuff all seems low class. It is what you do when you don't have the money and connections to go to the fancy MAGA events.

what do i define as neo-nazism? erm, explicitly white supremacist groups waving around swastikas sounds close to neo-nazism to me.Dilbert_X wrote:

you have a real penchant for 'no true scotsman' arguments.
and that nazism drew a few of its ideas from judaism.
are we going to get into an historically illiterate, jay-style conversation in which you argue that, actually, the jew-hating nazi ideology was in fact inspired and created by jews? aka 'the nazis were actually socialist'.
