this is the part where republicans tell you you just sit on your ass all summer collecting a paycheck. like they don't sit on their asses every chance they get, anyway.

that curriculum does feel very broad, but looks good. it sounds nice to have the freedom to set it on your own. this is like a combination of several of my history classes plus some overlap with high school geography.

i think you're right that the most important part isn't so much the material as being able to think about it, or take in new information. i think about this from time to time when arguing with boomers who were educated during the cold war.

Thank you for taking the time to look at all of it.

We are 10 month employees. So I work summer school. I am only off for the month of August. My pay went down a lot this summer compared to the previous three due to budget issues. Budgets are horror shows right now. But my contract is good.

You have mentioned before how the boomers hate collaborative learning. They likely took part in it as children. We just didn't have a name for the concept yet.

crickets on pushing desks together until conservative personalities started saying it was Bad?

"the kids won't learn to think for themselves!" to an audience who suddenly thinks kids won't learn to think for themselves. need to remove the bun a moment to scrape all the excess irony off that patty.

if the priority, like they keep saying, is to produce generations that can function in a workplace setting, collaborative effort seems kind of important to me.

On the one hand kids need to learn to collaborate, that was not part of my learning.

On the other they need to actually learn, from what I can see they aren't.

i don't think any collaborative emphasis is really what's holding classrooms back. will have to consult with mac.
