this recent 'discourse' was very strange to me, because it speaks about that era of music as if it had any real 'authentic' purchase. as far as i remember it, all that stomp clap faux-woodsman thing was apprehended as music for insurance and car commercials from the very start. it wasn't like it was some underground thing that reached the mainstream and became saturated: it was mall muzak and vibes-based branding from the start?KEN-JENNINGS wrote:
