I just was mentioning Asian stores I shop now. I ordered some pants from Brooks Brothers. That will be the pants story for another day.

I feel like you need a good pair of pants and Brooks Brothers is just something fancy I heard of and don't know any better.

Shirts...TJ Max. I have been wearing Amazon brand sweaters over Amazon polos this winter to work. Outfits genuinely look nice. I am not trying to sleep with anyone at work anymore and can get by with cheaper build quality since my job involves writing emails and sitting at a desk instead of rolling on the floor.

very good advice with the cat and anything with cables. either the creatures are tapped into some sort of EMF mysticism or they’re just plain evil. still leaning towards the latter. that’s why i coat all my cable sheathing in a fine layer of novichok.

i know what you mean about fashion choices. it can be hard to know what to ‘graduate’ onto as you age out of the college-era brands. i actually recommend tailors, especially for getting pants fitted.

japan is basicallY THE nation of 10,000 small businesses all being quasi-autistic about the fine details. whether it’s vintage denim or the latest streetwear, they got u. there’s a few small stores i go to here to buy like 1-2 pieces a year. wouldn’t want to stretch the budget to much more than that.

putting my current audio interface up for sale, as i'm not really using the 'audio interface' part to record and route line/instruments/mics etc. upping the budget a little bit for an 'endgame' DAC and mastering interface, as i do record a lot of DJ mixes straight off my analogue mixer and can benefit from the studio-grade AD/DA conversion.

this fancy schmancy piece of kit also has an in-built EQ which means i can tune any analogue speakers i may buy for said analogue mixer to the room(s) they're in. neat utility (which i also have in-built on my digital monitor speakers, as i mentioned elsewhere; don't think i could live without this functionality now tbh, even when opting for analogue hi-fi setups: room correction is here to stay, whether its DSP tech on the speakers themselves or EQ'ing at the digital conversion stage on this thing).

oh and this splitter fandango so that i can use the 4.4mm pentaconn balanced cable for my similarly 'endgame' IEMs with the front panel of the gizmo.
