this keeps coming up, and this is the correct thread for it.

if an older (or younger) generation has something they think is really good, why would they get mad at someone for not knowing about it? if it's that great, send a link. why are you scowling? why is that the reaction? tell me about your 2010s show. tell me about that 1950s hit album. there's lots of cool stuff out there waiting to be shared! HoW cOuLd YoU nOt KnOw ThIs ThInG? the same way people outside my age group are less aware of 90s slop, but you don't see me clutching my pearls over it.

i was gifted a bag of apples. i like apples. but these are red delicious. likely the cheapest there were on the shelf.
"shellac or carnuba wax," what you're going to see on additional apple ingredients. they'll never say which, only that it could be either, with a non-committal hand wobble. gross. who wants shellac on their apple skins? i don't want it on my candy either. i feel like they should do away with words and terms like "shellac" and "confectioner's glaze" and obfuscating codes on consumer-facing ingredients, and call it what it is: 'insect byproduct.' 'lac bug resin secretions with ~40% insect fragments.'

"we can't do that! it would hurt our image!"

i should add that i support replacing inefficient meats with bug protein. just stop lying with culinary technobabble.
