Hey everone,

I'm new to this forum so I apologize if I'm asking a question that has already been addressed in the past. Anyway, I was wondering if there are any utilities that can be downloaded or websites available that would allow someone to find another BF2 player online. I actually want to be able to find the server a specific player is playing on.

Here's the deal. I was playing on Strike at Karkand last night and I ran into a player called the Jerkinator. He ended up killing me 7 times consequtively, making him my worst enemy. Normally, I wouldn't care except that this guy sucks and he got extremely lucky. The first two times that I encountered him I was using my pistol because I was going for my veteran pistol badge. He had the DAO-12, so naturally its undertandable that I lost those fights. I went as medic again, although this time I was using the assault rifle and I came across him again. One of his allies leaves me with 2 bars of health after narrowly escaping the rath of the Noob Tube and he gets the finishing kill with what I believe was the submachine gun. I come up the hill again and this time I'm actually looking for him. However, I have an ally behind me who shoots me in the back giving me team damage in attempt to shoot through me to get the Jerkinator. Of course I'm left with a couple bars of health and the Jerkinator finishes me off with the DAO-12 again. By this time I'm getting really ticked, so I switch to the assault kit and select the G3. I encounter the guy again and unload an entire clip into his torso just before one of his teammates deals me splash damage with an AT missile and he finishes me off with a pistol. I'm assuming that the G3 clip didn't do the job because of lag. The next death was fairly similar except that it involved small arms fire. The last death to him occurred when I was caught off guard reloading my clip and he hit me with the DAO-12 after 10-11 shots. Yeah, it took him that many.

So anyway, I knew this guy wasn't that good because he had extremely low accuracy whenever he was firing at me. He was just fortunate that I was extremely low on health each time. So what I'd like to do is find this guy online and kill him at least 7 times in a row to repay the favor. Killing him will be the easy part, finding him is the hard part and that's why I'm asking for help. I checked the Jerkinator's stats today, and just as I thought he pretty much sucks. He has a lot of hours logged but horrible KD ratios and only an average SPM.

Usually, I have no intent on exacting revenge if someone gets the best of me in a game, but this is an exception and the first time I felt the need to do so.

Thanks in advance guys,
Matt

The only problem with game-monitor is that it is easily confused when someone is playing using the new prefix option. All Seeing Eye and Gamespy Arcade both have friends systems I believe... those could perhaps be used to search for a player name, just a guess though.

Or you can use this site. Look up his stats, and the when he comes online BF2S.com will find him. We utilize the PID to find players which gets around the problem of tags. Just put him in your My Leaderboard page and refresh every couple of hours.

I personally use Xfire, which is free for download and use. The "Join" button seems to have stopped working (letting you highlight your friend, and then clicking JOIN should load bf2 and join that server) since the last update. Unfortunately, xfire only works for people who have accepted a "friend" invitation from you, so it wouldnt really work for hunting down enemies. It is a great way to keep track of friends you like to play with. Another good feature is that once you have friends on xfire, you will also see any of their friends listed when they are online, so that even if your friends arent playing, you can find someone that they play with, and maybe play together.

For a little $ per month, you can also get a teamspeak server, and then you can talk with whomever you give the password to for your server, whether you are dead or not, in game or not. It is pretty cool, and beats having to hold down the "SPEAK" key while playing. The talking to your squad and commander function doesnt seem to work very well in BF2 for me, seems to cut out a lot, even when I'm on fast servers. Several different BF2 servers these days also host a server for teamspeak and will list the ip address in the server info page while bf2 is loading. Anyways, just figured I would put my 2cents in.

Except, because of the lag in updates, the 'player is online' feature doesn't actually work - I've known a friend is online and has been playing for some time (couple of hours) yet BF2s still says "PlayerName is not online right now"... Even after I've sat and waited for it to update.
