I would like an option to turn chat off. I never use it, the only thing its good for is people bitching each other out and calling people n00bs and assholes and asking "g0d! y do you punesh u f'in n00b? u sux!"

You can leave on Spotted commands and commander orders. Or maybe turn off the public chat and only have squad and commander text. You could either make it either a server option or a personal option. Seriously though, its worthless and annoying. I don't want to have to sit though the special olympics of flame wars between two douches while I'm playing. Who needs it?

I bearly even the notice the chat when playing. That would be a good feature though. I'm sure someone on here knows how to edit it out.

yep. i have said the same before myself - the chat is a pointless waste of screen space. you should NOT be spammed with 'enemy boat spotted' from the other side of the map, with voice or text. i think that you should be able to hear your team mates say them if you're near them, and have your map respond accordingly, but NOT be bombarded with voices and text spam when its irrelevant. we've all suffered at the hands of a nub commander that spotted every single enemy soldier on a 64 player map before, haven't we...

the other day I joined a server and JackBurtonEDF was doing this just to fuck the game up for everyone else. He'd either go commander and leave his page-up key pressed in - a bombardment of meaningless fucking spam in voice and chat, and a punish if anyone tk'd him to stop him. mind you, he wasn't playing or anything, just standing there and doing this to piss people off. He was also singing over the squad leader com. If I higher ranked player took commander next round just to stop him from doing it, he'd just 'enemy boat spotted' all the map, for whole round.

an option to disable chat would stop shit like this from happening, if nothing else.
