BF2S Forums Padding? Am I a padder?

No one wants to be revived just to die again for certain. So I'd say you were doing what padders do, and don't do it anymore.

Sounds like a pooptastic server. And ppl TKing and taking advantage of that situation is f'kn low. Take a screen next time and post it up. We don't take kindly to them types 'round herr, and I can guarantee you he won't be playing on BF2S servs.

i need to be given some basic education here .. if badges are given out for medic, engineer and support class, right from bronze to gold, i will presume that accumulating points and hours in these classes are the natural thing to do? or excessive accumulation is considered stats padding..?

i got my Meritorious Unit Ribbon last nite doing the BH whoring thingy, then getting onto an APC, playing medic, support and Spec-Ops, capping flag, defending flag, manning a TOW taking out an APC.. points versus kills make me look like a stats padder, but help me out here, how else would i get 40 points minimum if i dont do all this? So is one a stats padder for doing all this? Or he is not when he goes on Assault Kit and making kills, capping flags? There are so many awards, so many ribbons, so many badges..some of them requiring ludicrous hours of gameplay and kill/re-supply/revive rate. Isnt it inevitable to sometimes keep healing/reviving or resupply? (i do agree that reviving during a firefight or enemy arti strike is not smart, read HolyKit's thread)

it seems out of thread (hey, the header said Padding?)..but i m trying to take a step back and looking at the whole situation after reading so many threads on stats padding, BH whoring (there must be a reason why it sits 6, and EA removed the hellfire that can be seen in the original screenshots to maybe make it less overwhelming?), etc..

I would say that the line between stats padding and being a team player is thin, and i am not sure at which point teampoints accmulation ends, stats padding starts. If i were to put a stake in the ground, and imho, maybe it is if you are playing lone wolf accumulating points. But, if the players in the server sucks, then some of us do not have much of a choice but play lonewolf. As a lonewolf, i saved a game the other night, rushing out to cap a USMC flag so that the entire team gets an alternative flag to spawn on (we very nearly won, it was close) as the rest had been capped by USMC. And good thing i did, as the last Chinese flag was capped by USMC.

well, let me add my two cents to this...

to me, everything you do in the game is fine as long as it helps your team win. meaning, if teammates get shot at a high rate, or fire at a high rate, there is nothing wrong with reviving a lot , or resupplying a lot. Because that is after all what you are supposed to do as support class.

last night, I got 65 team points from playing medic on sharqui, not one single point was padded. people just get shot a lot on city maps.

stat padding to me is when you specifically decide to boost your personal score by performing actions that will not in any way help your team win. like meeting in some quiet part of the map and do the knife-revive game.

Same goes for BH whoring. It is not your fault that the BH maybe was designed a little too powerful on some maps. that is EA's fault ( if you can call it that ), and should not stop you from using the BH in it's most effective way.
sure, I hate it too when all MEC flags are taken within 2 minutes of the map on mashtuur, and the combination of 5 guys in a BH plus the miniguns is clearly unbalanced, but until the patch arrives, that's just something we will have to live with. furthermore, if you use the 50 cal. right, a BH can be brought down easily with some good teamwork.
Not EA's fault that people on public servers can't muster teamplay..

So I suppose I wasn't padding then seeing as my intentions were good and I was following him around the main spawn actually helping the team.....  I still feel like crap for getting 227 points where I might of gotten 50 under normal circumstances.... I just hope EA moderaters will see eye to eye with me.... (Yea right)

idunno i would have thought u were padden...think about it sum guy makes up new account, goes in his freind comes in....bam he can mess that profile up and his buddy gets 227 points.  thats wat i would have been thinken was going on..woulda been PIssed!

Kinda old topic but anyway... Were you killed by this guy? If not anyway you was doing all that medic supposed to do. And I will do the same thing. But I guess I can understand why they called you like that. Because if that guy didnt shot you but was killing other teammates and you just running around and reviving it will look like tk guy is your friend, you and him have an agreement, he uses fake account and tkilling and you r reviving and getting points. After padders usually switch so other tkilling and his friend is reviving. I think this is the basic idea.  Well it was kinda bad server without admin or autokik. So, YOU ARE NOT A PADDER. and tkillers like that guy should be banned from all ranked servers forever
