I've already seen a couple complaint threads concerning jets in the game and how they own armor and control points. I've also read the counter arguements that break down to "If you can't beat them, join them," which I would normally agree with except that not all fighter jets are balanced and not all players have access to joysticks. A modererately skilled jet pilot with a joystick can perform about just as well as an experienced jet pilot with a mouse. To turn as tight and as constant as another jet pilot with a joystick I have to slide -> lift my mouse, slide -> lift my mouse, slide -> lift my mouse, etc. This is even with the highest sensitivity setting on my mouse. I know because I play Desert Combat and BF2 with a coworker who I used to own fairly consistently in air battles when we both had mice. Now that he has a joystick, there's almost no competition and I usually always get owned in the air by him.

So, for jet pilots with joysticks to say that the playing ground can be leveled if they are countered by other jets is only valid if the other team's jet pilots have access to joysticks. This is not always true but usually the case. It could be argued that players who are getting owned by air assets and want to turn the tides of battle could simply go out and buy a joystick to balance the situation, but why would a player do this that doesn't really want to play in air assets in the first place? There should be more than one "efficient counter" to jets other than buying a piece of hardware. Unfortunately AA doesn't fall under the "efficient counter" category unless you're going after heli's, which can be taken down fairly easily with AA.

These are just my thoughts on the subject. The only other thing I would like to add, is that I wish that jets had straight firing missiles instead of the seeking ones.

I think that jet missiles need to have their targeting systems tweaked.  If I target an enemy jet, most likely he will start going around and around in circles.  Firing a missile while going in circles has about a 1 in 100 chance of hitting.  Most of the time, the missiles swerve off.  If jet missiles were able to hit more easily, then it would solve a lot of these "jet whoring" problems.

I'm a "bomber whore" myself, but find that it becomes stupid if a jet is chasing me in circles, getting nowhere.  I would rather die right away, respawn, get back into the air, and find him before he finds me.
