This is simple. Well, I thought it was. I only have two badges to go to complete the badge set (well, basics, anyway). I'm going for basic engineer before I grow the balls to try commanding online. My question: What is the easiest and LEGIT way to make a simple 5 repair points IAR? Yes, you will shout that I'm a noob and that that should be easy, but it just is not. Any tips or hints at all? Yes, I've been trying on karkand. Everytime I see a friendly tank or APC in need of repair, the driver is already an engineer, so it's already repaired...damn them. Yes, I searched.

- Tips on getting basic engineer badge? (Yes, I searched)
either keep on trying , repairing uav etc etc if it gets blown up (wake is good for this) or sod it and cheat a little by getting a veichle driving it in the water (wake) and then getting in the back seat and repair. who cares how you get your badges - at the end of the day, your the only one who is going to look at them so get them whatever way you want.
You get into a tank/APC and follow another Tank/APC around and fight the enemy - unless you posess God-powers (TM) you will take damage, and so will your wing-tank.. You rep him from inside your tank and vice versa - voila, basic repair. (Basic engineering is killing five people IAR)
Or if you feel like teamwork only, you can get in a buggy, or fast jeep while beeing engy and zoom across the battlefield looking for tanks/APC's/AA's to repair..
Happy hunting!

You have a couple options. First you could try a map like Karand, a high points map (sized for 64 but with only 16 or so players) and follow your APC or Tank either in another APC or in the tank itself and automatically repair them from the comfort of you driver's seat as they get shot up.
Or, on a high-points map, if your commander toys are getting attacked, stay close and keep them in repair. That as well could be from a vehicle.

get in a humvee or vodnik and drive into medium depth water (deep water = instant death). hop in the back seat and repair away.
Without CHEATING (just kidding), just stay by the commander assets, it will be boring, but eventually some Spec Ops will come and blow them up, wait till hes done, kill him and repair away, after two or three, its yours easy
I used a black hawk and would fly around repairing vehicles without touching down. Watch for the combat choppers though.
Doing the jeep-in-water thing will risk your stats getting deleted.
Take the jeep for a swim
The best way to get repair points is be committed to being an engineer, and listening.
Wrenching any blown CO assets is the best way, so keep any ear out for when they get C4ed.
If they are blown and you bring them back, each is worth 1 point. (If you bring it all the way back to full and don't get the point, it's just a small glitch. Next time you repair anything at all, the point will appear.)
Have a look around before you start wrenching though, make sure the enemy SpecOps isn't waiting for you still.
You can also repair neighbouring vehicles mindlessly by sitting next to them, if they are damaged and occupied. If tanks or APCs are already in use, don't be afraid to take a transport vehicle and drive up to them. Switch to gunner position to kill infantry, you still repair. This works for CO assets also, park next to them. Note: things repair slower when you are parked near, compared to to actually working the wrench.
You can also repair an occupied & damaged TOW or stinger missile site very quickly, quickest points you can get. Remember that repairing anything which is unoccupied does not give you repair points, even if it helps the team. Same for bridges, you do not get repair points for them.

Top of AA, perhaps.. although you're a sitting duck
You need to be on a Chinese map, its the easiest with the most vehicles, FAV shadowing, and repairing CA(commander's Assets) with net the most. Rep 3/2 Art of the CA with net you one, so rep all 3 is 1.5, all 5 of them equals 3 I think.
