I agree. (Nice name by the way.)

I've got the same card and I run it on low-medium, but more low than medium.

You can probably run med-high settings, but low is best as it gives you maximum framerate.

but i never play 64 man servers.. what would you say if I play 32 man and 16 man.. I put everything on med - high, would i lag? I mean theres only a few things i really want to put on high. thats terrain, detail, and geometry.

Just leave it on low.. I dont see anything major about putting it high, I prefer playing at low graphics because you can run so smoothly

I had a 6800gt and I could set everything on high with 2x aa and medium texture filtering at 1024*768... with pretty decent fps.

but you need lots of ram

I've got a GF6600GT 128MB AGP and the game runs fine with 30-40 fps on 1024x768@75Hz,medium settings, geometry on high.My processor is an Athlon64 3000+ and I have 2 gigs of RAM.

Lots of people state they can run that card on all highs with AA crazieness with 50 fps, what most fail to state is the fact that their card is PCI-E and not AGP or even the amount of RAM they have.

I'm going to be honest with you, i have that card but only 1 gig RAM so it's a little laggy on 64 player games, probably 30 ish FPS on lows and meds at 1280x1024 res, i have heard that an extra gig will be a significant boost to the FPS.

On 32 or even 16 players i can manage on meds and highs no problem.40 ish FPS

You dont need high settings, there is very little difference between medium and high, cept high makes things slower.

I play on high/medium and have no problems with 6800gs

PCI-E or AGP doesnt make much difference for now. You won't see much improvements over the different interface. However, RAM is very important in BF2 and it makes a huge difference.

I have Asus GeForce 6800 GT 128MB AGP with AMD A64 4000+ and 1 Gig of RAM. My in-game settings are all high except texture and lighting at medium with no AA. I play 64 player map all the time, it only lags sometimes in certain map.

I run med to low(40-70 fps) with BFG6800gtoc on an old Dell 8250 with 1 gig ram at 1024x768. It by far runs the worst of my 3 pcs. Damn pc1066 rdram is so exspensive to get more for this dinosaur. I bet I'd be happier with 1.5 gig(it's max) though.

I have a 256Mb 6800GT [it is PCI-E but the 6800's are within AGP-8's range], 2Gb of system ram.
I have used "coolbits" reg key to overclock my card core speed to 400Mhz [from350].
I run at 1280x1024 everything high and 4xAA and can still get 60-70 FPS.

IE you should be fine.

EDIT: just in case it makes a difference to you the rest of my rig is as follows

P4  3.2  [overclocked to 3.5]
2 x Western Digital Raptors in RAID-0

These are all around 1 year old, but I never get FPS issues, and am rarely out of the top 5 player to join a map.
