hi, I know this is only awarded to one player at a time so has anyone out there achieved this rank. If so how did you get it.

I'm asking because in BFHQ my progress toward the next rank bar is full and this is my next rank accorinding to BFHQ.

well, i got the same and there is no rank like sergeant major of the corps you just need to go towards you next rank and that is 2e luitanent and than is the bar normal again

SGT Major of the Corps is a rank given to the TOP PERFORMING SGT Major IN THAT MONTH...1 PERSON CAN HOLD THE RANK OF SGT Major of the Corps AT A TIME...

that was in the first 3 months that bf2 came out. then ea changed the ranks adn 2luitanent where added. and now a hole bunch og new ranks added and i dont think the best player in the hole months is getting sgt mj cprs. some guys can own so much points in a hole moth.

He stopped playing in January so he didn't play with the 1.2 Patch (or above) with which he should have been promoted to Colonel. He is still Sergeant Major and if he never plays again he will be "the best performing Sergeant Major of the month" for the rest of the Battlefield 2 ranking.

your right...but look at what i said....the best performing SGT MAJOR of that month. that one guy is just being stoopid...and its really a pointless rank..EA should have put something in that would allow you to view the maj of the corps, instead of having to go on a massive manhunt. same with 4-star general (which is noone at this point i belive)

i think ea/dice should make it more interesting for players who have no motivation to play bf2(ranks=oke but more ribbons badges, KITS)they need to put more time in this game IT IS A MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER GAME

I thought it was to do with the old ranking system, you know since there was a huge 150,000 gap between serg majour and 2nd lt. I belive anibus was the 1st, beating blazin.uk etc, but then no sooner had blazin, firestorm and all the rest cracked 2nd lt at 200,000 they revamped the system, including lots more ranks to cover the 150,000 point gap.

I don't think it is atainable really now, anubis didn't get it untill he was on something like 100,000 it was really just to show that this serg majour was a good player. If you had an spm high enough to be classes as best player in the given month, I doubt you would be serg majour for long, before you get to 60,000 and get promoted.
