Nah, they'd probally just add a couple of maps with the unlock, and charge you 10 bucks for it.

EA are greedier than hell. Example, The Sims 2. They realease the game with bare bone minimums for 50 bucks. Then every other month they release an expansion with the stuff people actually want to do.

And must I mention the mockery they made of The Godfather?

FUCK EA. I'll play BF2 'till I find something else, but I ain't giving 'em anymore of my money, ever. I thought Valve was bad, but they ain't got shit on EA.

*sigh*  samples are not free, they are built into the cost of the product.  Patches are there to keep you addicted to the game and make you spend money on expansion and booster packs.

I am sure ea is very nervous right now, lol...

That Patch was 2 cents Short of everyones Bf2 icon blowing off there desktop screen.

Question to Ea,

I didnt buy Euro Force but i am thinking of buying  Armored Fury,  is that going to effect my patching???  (i hope you address that question when you release armored fury)

How about they recommit to upgrade, repair, and support the original BF2.... and more urban combat maps.

why do people always forget that ea is not a charity?

why the fuck would they bother going to any effort to make it to give it away?

i know alot of people have troubles with this game. but think about how many play it. its a minority i assure you that actually give a second thought to problems with it.

It was pretty effing ghey that they decided to charge us for stuff that would have normally be included in a patch. I reckon that they should wake up and realise that they didn't bluff us. If they refuse to let us off with a freebie I think that's reasonable, but if they still want to release a legitimate addon and get people to pay for it, they should at leat have the integrity to release a hard copy so we don't have to rely on some fucking buggy downloader.

It should be free but then we could forget about anymore boosters...which might not be a bad thing.

Yes I would, I think we should be given a free mod (a DECENT [WORKING] mod) made by themselves. But I doubt this will happen.

What they can do though, and is equally as good for me, is make a 3rd tier unlock system available for everyone consisting of EF and AF weapons. They can replace the L96A1 with something else from SF. I think that is a more logical and fair response to the trouble they've been giving us. Not only would it be free to make, but it would restore people's faith within EA and their products, I know that I may be persuaded into buying 2142 if they show us in bf2 that they acknowledge the issues and give us something in return, as a show of goodwill.

I agree, I stopeed at SF because the servers running the maps are too few (Ranked) compared to BF2, I merely wanted more guns... It doesn't matter, its only $10.

Although i would love a free expansion, its not happening jan. They wouldnt put all those man hours into an expansion just for free.

Can I ask a question?
Why should we pay for a booster pack when it's rumored that BF2 will die once 2142 comes out this fall?
Making AF only useful for a few months if it's in fact a popular game to play.  From what I have seen more people play SF then they do EF (at least from my end).  This made SF one of the most popular add ons to date.

If bugs are fixed and AF is just as popular it will lasts longer then just a few weeks. Cutting it short  to make room for 2142 will anger a lot of users.

Put it this way

Well you spend money on an expansion for a game thats a year old, and already had 2 expansions that kind of failed. OR spend That money (Plus a bit more) on a completley new game, with new features etc?

Word got out a long time ago that SF is a good game to play.  It can be purchased in the store and you have a visible, tangible product that you don't have to download.  I believe this is one of the reasons why it's more popular then EF.

As a matter of fact SF still remains problem free to date.  I have read no reports of CTD, lost connections nor high pings with SF, PERIOD!  However, the same cannot be said with BF2/EF.  A few others as well as myself have yet experienced a problem while playing SF.  All I can say is that having it's own interface was better trade off then anyone would have ever thought.

So will I buy a possble buggy AF over a bug free SF...nope!

The question is simple, why is SF (just an expansion) have less problems then BF2?  More and more people are reinstalling SF because word of mouth is getting out that SF has yet to fail them.  So, I ask you a simple question will you play a BF2 that is littered with bugs (CTD, High Ping, Lost connection, messed up browser, etc) or play SF which doesn't have these problems?  The answer is simple.

it's TEN bucks!

If you're willing to spend 50 bucks on a game when it comes out, then you should have no problem buying something for 10.

It's should be free! They've destroyed the game with the new patch. I can barley connect to a server without BF2 crashing to desktop.:S We should get something back for standing out with THEIR mastakes!

Dude, youve played 331 hrs... the game was 50 bucks, thats .15 an hour.... go update your computer, Ram or something, 10 percent of all players experience problems. Usually driver problems.

I remember when patches which included a new map were obviously free.  Now, we get an inferior product (crashy, glitchy, and not well tested) and they expect us to fork out more money every time they patch it.

It would have been nice if EA was honest upfront and told us how much it is going to cost if we continue to play the game.

I would have respected EA a lot more if they just said BF2 was going to cost 100 dollars and you are going to get lots of new maps/weapons/vehicles in each patch.  Even if they TOLD us there are going to be 3,4,..10 "expansions" that we are going to have to pay for, that would have been respectable also.

EA seems to be acting very sly about getting money out of our pockets. I am definately going to think twice about investing in EA's products in the future.
