Yup, I gave you that karma.

BTW, I have lived outside of the USA, and conversations I have had with people about politcs show me that they don't get have all the news. It's not presumptious, it's from experience.

Ah, make the generization that I am a kid just because I disagree with you. Your lack of maturity discussing this topic shows me that you are in fact the immature, or "kid", in this argument. Thanks.

The fact that you can't speak proper english makes me ashamed to admit that you are probably from the USA.  Don't be an asshat because he's not from here, because it's painfully obvious that you know absolutely nothing about the world around you.  It's people like you that give America a bad name.  Why don't you crawl back into the hole you were spewed from and keep your dumbass posts to yourself.

PS:  it does remind me about the election... damn funny man!

edit: called on it, and checked for spelling.

Oh my god...that shows the exact reason why half the world hates the US. Its their people.

Unable to take the humerus side to a post and believe that everything said is a direct violation to there own patriotism. God forbidding someone from outside the country can comment.

Yes, I APOLOGISE to all Americans who do not fit into my observation and their are many quality blokes out there and who also reside on this forum.

After I posted, I read what lordgeno said and that was good too.

Sorry to say, but yes, it is a little presumptuous of both uber and joeman.  If anything, others who receive news from various sources stand a better chance of forming an unbiased opinion.  Especially when those sources reach beyond the realms of your everyday CNN.  To give you a better example.  Ted Turner, the former owner of CNN was interviewed and was asked what he thought of CNN and other major news corporations in America.  He said that it was regressing horribly.   One thing he detests is that American news isn't news anymore.  It's a show...an entertainment show with little or nothing to do with what could be regarded as journalism.  Something that I happen to agree with wholeheartedly.

"When you've got 80 channels like you do here, people watch whatever they want. And that's the sad thing about it, because the more cerebral, the more complex, the more forward-looking the story is here in the United States, to a large extent the smaller the ratings are.''
Ted Turner

"There is an awful lot of superfluous news, the pervert of the day and someone that shot seven people,' he said. 'Who needs it all?"
Ted Turner

"We used to think of ourselves as newspapermen until we got so hoity-toity in the news business. Now we're all 'journalists.' We kind of adorned our craft with a fancy word, and it's too bad we just can't call ourselves 'newspeople.' It would be a little less formal and a little less suggestive that we are all the intellectuals that most of us are not."
Walter Cronkite

Walter Cronkite has castigated producers of the network nightly newscasts for including stories about "your health and mine and your backyard and mine and all that kind of thing" at the expense of more substantive reports. "It doesn't belong in the evening news," Cronkite said during an interview on Texas Monthly Talks, which airs on Texas public broadcasting stations. "We're the most important nation in the world ... and there are these other very important stories in a very complicated world that we need to cover. We can't do that in 15 or 16 minutes." Apparently suggesting that the television networks ought to dispense with commercials during their nightly newscasts, Cronkite remarked, "The networks should be giving us the full half hour. ... It's ridiculous to have as little time as we have."

If you can't take a little criticism and are going to minus karma others for simply voicing their opinions...you need to grow up.  He never said that he "hated" America.  He simply voiced his opinion on a matter that's still debated quite hotly.  And please...do me a favor.  Stop being so paranoid.  Don't jump the gun and start calling everyone "haters" at the slightest notion of being criticized.  There are a lot of great nations in the world and America is indeed one of them.

EDIT:  Just realized I put the wrong names in the beginning of the post.  I meant the construct to be what it is now.  My apologies uber73.

I'm from Florida, for the record, it was Palm Beach.  It's north of Miami but w/e.  The Miami/Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood area usually votes Democrat.

But Belfast is the only place in Ireland I know about, so it's not like I should be talking anyway.

I agree with you on your topic tho

some people are perhaps lacking a sense of humour on this thread... the premise was to highlight another EA/BF2 oddity... guys, DONT take it out of context, and for gods sake, see the humour and irony.

why is it that some americans get very upset when u point out any of their or embarassments weaknesses?  since i posted this thread, ive been thinking a lot about some peoples responses, both on the thread itself, and in karma...

why are these people in question so damned defensive and ignorant?  particularly when this is a jokey pic post?

For the record...I think the picture that uber73 posted was funny as hell.  Especially when you take in the context....Hehe.  As for people getting angry over such a trivial thing, well, that's just childish.  I'll say it again...when did uber73 say he "hated" America, I don't think he said that anywhere in his posts...not once.

I'm sorry, but I'll have to agree with uber on this specific matter.  There's just no reason for anyone to go on the defensive and start calling them names.  Go to the gym or a monastery or a spa...whatever makes your day...just relax people.
