It sucks that the purple heart is viewed the way it is here. I have 2 uncles that have earned purple hearts and they didnt get them from doing anything less than a heroic deed. They are proud of them and so am i. If the only way i can ever get one is through a game, than by all means, im gonna get it.

I don't think that the people here view the real life purple heart the same way they do the one in the game. I have nothing but respect for the people who have earned a purple heart in real life. I watch movies and TV shows such as "Saving Private Ryan" and "Band of Brothers" and I can't even imagine what it would have been like. However, the game is viewed completly different. It is a game. The purple heart in the game doesn't take any effort or sacrifice to get, and doesn't hurt anything except maybe an ego. It was one medal that I didn't want to get, but I got it anyway. (I probably shouldn't have tried for the vet pistol on Wake Island.)

i did some surveying work at the national mint of aus and they had all the purple hearts in the precious metals vault, they look just awsome in real life.
thats the reason i got mine on here, cause they are are good thing to have.

Agreed with all above. It's just in this game they are viewed with a degree of contempt.... In real life however, the bearers are nothing short of heroes

Edit: the medals I mean, not the people (in context of the game).

its so sad the way they show the purple heart. in real life its an honor, but the way they show it in BF2, thats the last medal i would want to get. so sad.
