When you're in a tank...

(About 60% of my armor kills came today. I pwn in a tank now. A colonel and a horrible person called em a hacker today!! Also, I got about 25 repair points and got Vet Engineer combat and specialist!! That was a my brag... anyway)

When your in a tank, do you wait for someone to get in the turret or go on.

If I spawned at the flag and there is alot of people there, I wait for the gunner. If I died and am at the base by myself I go.

What do you guys do?

uh oh... someone found the tanks....
when I use a tank I just drive right into battle, if someone wants in they better get in while they have a chance. Personally I hate the turret on top of the tank, I suck with it.

when i'm in a tank i go straight for the other teams armour. And i don't normally wait for a gunner unless they say "give me a ride!" or whatever. I just don't like gunners:

they don't do anything really
they easily die from jet bombs, artillery, other tanks machine guns, small arms fire, AT missles... pretty much everything

gunners are basically just free points for the other team IMO, so i don't like them. I personally don't like being a gunner unless i have a friend in the same room with me so that we can easily communicate with each other

Hmm funny according too your stats you still have basic badge and not enough time for expert badge which is 20 now and the vet is 10.

yeah. when I get in a tank, i don't wait for a gunner. he's just gonna get sniped or something, or jump out and get run over. by me.

unless they ask for a ride.

Yeah, and after they run in front of you and you run them over, they punish before you can even say sorry...... fringin knubs.

I also hate gunner, I prefer to be the driver.

When I'm in a tank, I get out and shoot people. Then again, I don't even get into tanks because all I play are 20 man Karkand servers set to 16 man map set, with no vehicles or artillery. It's all infantry combat. Just like Counter-Strike, just how I like it.

I've recently started tanking with a buddy on teamspeak as gunner. I'll be squad leader so he can keep spawning back on me. It helps b/c we can yell anti-tanker at 2 o'clock and such, as he is normally watching our six.

I'll go anti-tank, he'll go engineer and we last a while normally. plus, when my tank is finally dead, I can whoop on whatever killed me with my own rockets. When I need repairs, I'll try to find a spot where I can protect him long enough to kill me.

It's kinda hard not to defend unless you are jsut oging out to rape some infantry a new counch hole... but yeah. Mostly it is defending... and I have noticed, if you are defending, you almost ALWAYS win the tank battle, almost always. Or if you are facing a nub. lol

Only time I wait for a gunner is if Im going in to a CP and I need all the help I can get. He knows he aint gonna get anywhere sitting on top of a giant tank exposed for the whole world to see. He'd better get out, and if he dont, well it doesnt count against me so I dont care.

I actually drove a tank as a squad leader and just drove laps around TV station on Sharq one time. They'd spawn on me on at a time and hop out and go try and capture the point. They were all focused on the tank doing MEC Nascar around their point rather than the 4 or 5 guys running up behind them.

We didnt capture the point until the last 10 minutes of the game, mostly cause our entire team didnt help out. So it was Alpha ftw.

for the sake of your team, don't use the vehicles, leave them for someone who knows what they are doing

I'll sometimes call for a gunner and sometimes I'll jump in as gunner. Either way it helps out. A gunner that's observant will be able to pick off the pesky Spec Ops and AT, giving you a chance to battle enemy tanks, which is what you should be doing, not using a 120mm on infy.

Stay back maybe 20 yards so I can make sure no c4 punk is running at me and can see where AT are firing from when im driver. When im gunner I spam control trying not be hit (maybe in 2-3 second intervals), each time I pop up I shoot at guys.

umm, the best is to put ur mouse sensitivity on very high for the tank... and rotate the turret like every 10 seconds to make sure no C4 has been sticky tapped to ur ass
