Hello all,

I have been playing BF2 for long enough to sorta know what gun I should unlock, and so far I think I have made some good choices. However I will soon make First Sergeant and I am stuck. I only ask because I have not played with the guns I have left very much, and there are not many good opinions about them from "the end user community". It will probably take me a little time to get to 50,000 and I don't want to get something that I will regret.

So here is my situation. I have the following guns still locked.

MK3A1 (Jackhammer)
MP-7
MG36
P90

The way I see it there are 2 choices for me...

1) Unlock the Jackhammer and the MP-7.

I don't know how good the MP-7 is, I have not really played with it. I really quite like the shotguns, but something that shoots better than a pistol would be helpful in an open area.

2) Unlock the MG36 and the P90

Is the P90 a good gun and just looks ugly, or is it really just crap. I love the PKM but it shoots slow and I get killed close up sometimes; would this be a good addition?

Given these 2 choices what would you do and why?

The P-90 isn't bad. Ugly, but not bad, at least in 1.3. I do like the DAO but having some range with the P90 helps.

I haven't played too much with the MP7 since I rarely play Engineer on SF and don't have it unlocked.

The MG36 works well as a Support gun but I haven't noticed a real difference over the PKM, at least as far as my normal usage goes.

I suggest the MK3A1 and the MG36. The MK3A1 is unlike any other gun in the game in the fact it is an automatic shotgun. Very useful in close combat situations. The MG36 is also very good. I like using it in situations that are closer together than say the PKM, due to the PKM's slow rate of fire.

I don't like how the red dot on the P90 isn't adjusted like it should, half the time it misses even if you are prone and zoomed. The MP7 I just don't like at all, but if you like an automatic gun in the engineer position that is not a shotty it obviously is your only pick, but then again you will have to unlock the MK3A1 to get to it.

i think it´s better if you unlock the MK3A1 (Jackhammer)!

because is much better than the M11-87 (normal USMC)

and the MP-7 is too fast empty-fired! i think

PKM those is nearly alike as MG36!

I unlocked the MK3A1 or whatever, the Jackhammer, and the P90. I regret nothing. This will be a good solid choice unless you really want the MG36, I hear it's overall not as good as the PKM though. the MP-7 is definitely something to shoot for though.

Ok, no bs now, get the MK2A1 and the P90.

But as you asked, Unlock the Jackhammer and the p90

The PKM is fine- it's my favourite MG as the MG36 doesn't have the power or, I feel, the accuracy, so ignore MG36 for now

The jackhammer is excellent close up and you need an upgrade if you're going to start playing engineer. Mp-7 is better still and gives a slightly better range, but I'd save this and go for p90 now.

P90 is butt-ugly, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Prone, zoomed in on single shot/2-3 round bursts (index finger controlled!) you can snipe at a pretty good distance and it's got a good enough ROF for close up (since 1.03 ) You just can't snipe with the DAO-12 and it's frustrating when you see a noob prone on the other side of the street and you gotta cross to get to him (if you're out of grenades. mush better to wake him up from the safety of cover.

I think you should either pick on the basis of which kit you'd like to play with most or pick the 'best' weapon as far as you're concerned and use that kit. The MG36 is a great support gun and despite the power of the PKM it's a worthwhile alternative (the three-shot group when prone and zoomed is very powerful and it's slighly more accurate up close and personal I think).

I like the P90 (and think it's a pretty little gun too!) and I appreciate the firepower when I play AT, as although it is relatively underpowered, like the other submachineguns in the game, it has a high rate of fire and a large mag. And personally I like the scope.

By all means do what suits you. (If you want to play more engineer then go ahead and unlock and engineer weapon etc.)

I personally don't like the MK3A1 or MP7 (I'll take the stock weapons over them)

I would say that both the P90 and MG36 own. (though the first tier unlocks for both classes are pretty good too)

i just unlocked the jackhammer and the mp7 when i got 1st sergeant. i've used the jackhammer before and i like it but i absolutly own with the mp7. im not sure why people dont like it.

i guess its a gun that you have to get used too.

u could not be more wrong about PKM and MG36, i have both, the mg36 shots alot fast and has alot less recoil and is alot more accurate. PKM is more for taking ATV, jeeps and small vechiles down because of its 50 cal bullets.

MG-36 is a assualt rifle addapted to be a LMG so its more suited for crouched and prone, takes down infantry fast and reloads fairly fast

plus mg-36 is german=alot better
