Is this considered stat padding?

I have noticed alot of commanders doing this and I thought I would do this for no reason. I was on Warlord, SAS, and I was in the TOW whilst commanding, and about midway through the round, I got Basic Ground Defense. Is that considered stat padding?

I also am thinking about doing that for transport and heli and aviator.

Your thoughts?

Nope, not padding.

But camping in a plane or heli while commanding isn't going to make your team happy no matter how good a commander you are.

I know, I bet someone is going to tk me if I do it. I was jsut wondering if it was stat padding, thanks though. If I had any karma, you would get some.

plus, most servers have rules against commanders in planes/helos/vehicles. i saw someone get kicked because he hopped in a tank just to go kill someone

i did it to get my air defence badge after trying to get it 5 times on Ghost Town

9, 8, 10, 7, 6 kills in those rounds...

GOD DAMN! why does it have to be 11 kills? wtf is that? and Ground defence is only 5? i got that in like 1 min once on Wake... jesus...

not at all, it's actually against the ROE as a commander to use some vehicles. Not really sure why because you can easily do both, especially on a server with a low number of players.

The Air defence is higher because the AA vehicles count towards it. You can kill infantry and get it quick.

Generally I'd say "if you have to ask, yes it is statpadding," but in that occurrence, no it's not. I got my Vet Engineer badge doing the same thing. Felt kind of bad, but it's not my fault. A lot of people go on GD or AA to get their time up while commander, and yeah, their kills get attributed to it. Still, definatly not stat padding.

If you take it serious, it's not legal - you're blocking a vehicle (no matter of ground defense, air defense, helo...) and this can get you a stats reset.

Freaks me out on sharqui when the commander sits in the AA at mec chopper spawn, have had to kill one or two before to jump in and shoot at the USMC attack chopper, wasnt happy doing it but they went down, i said sorry and all was well.

I'll admit my GD time was mostly while commanding, but I got my Expert AA pre 1.3 in the mobile AA vehicles.

one little problem there..... is says INSTEAD OF COMMANDING

when people sit in AA and GD things, they ARE commanding, but aren't using the vehicle, so that doesn't count

if he were to be commander, sit in a GD thing and fight people, then that would apply, but that's not what's going on here

I'll tell you whta is padding. when people come up when your commanding and shoot you with there pistol and then heal you. My parents were in bed and my headphones had just died so I had sound turned off. and I didn't notie till towards the end. had a look at his score he had 30 something points. lame.
