VoIP update:
Yesterday, Echo and I tested the settings I had received from one of the clans that also rents from i3d.nl, but with no success. I3d.nl themselves have only said that this might be a bug inside BF2, and that it is well possible that VoIP works on one server, but not on the other.
Let's hope 1.3 fixes this.
Right now, I am lost. I will continue to pressure i3d.nl ( I might even call them ).

I have a server in my office to spare, but the speed to it is only 2.2mb 256kb would this be enough?
no idea. I'll have to look into the matter beforehand. I also don't know if there is separate software for the standalone VoIP server for BF2. I suppose it is included with the game, but that's just a guess. I will ask i3d.nl about it.

with Teamspeak, is it on all the time and transmits everything you say? just cause i end up swearing a lot at times playing BF2 and dont want to upset anyone if i am on it!

Hmmm... sounds okay for me...maybe you have some ports that you have to open up for TS ? Firewall issues ?

I don´t have that, when I use Quick connect...
All you need is type in Server adress and nickname -> connect.
EDIT : Oh, now I get it ! Yeah, you need a nickname.

I connected to the TS server yesterday, said hello, checked the settings so I have it set up now. I've had problems with TS and BF2 earlier and wasn't sure it would work. Couldn't assign the push-to-talk button to my mouse though.
Voip is a lot more flexible though, but I'm not going to whine about its absence because I mostly use it when playing with friends anyway.
Do you know who's speaking by recognising the voice or do you perhaps use TeamSpeak Overlay http://www.teamspeakoverlay.com/? Haven't tried it myself but I will probably install it, because I think I'll get very confused if I don't know who's saying what.

There was a thread about BF2 compability in their forum. Appearantely it didn't work initally but should now although perhaps not all problems have been ironed out. According to the thread it had a tendency to anger Punkbuster so beware.
Well, I got TS up and running (again), so now I can hear what you guys are saying.
Teamspeakoverlay was very popular during my Desert Combat time.

whats the player limit on your ts and how do you change it, ours is limited to 10 people and that sucks we want more.
