No, this isn't a 2142 thread. I've been thinking, and I'm probably not the only one, where will the Battlefield franchise go from here. They used up all the big wars (except for: WWI, Civil, Revolutionary) and they've made the futile yet predictable jump to the future. I really don't see Battlefield going anywhere after 2142.
Unless they go back in time... 1242?
I want a sequel to 1942, with newer engines, all the new ranks and gameplay, new weapons, etc. And naval combat, ffs.
Civial war would be very neat...especially when dx10 comes around
a remake of 1942 would be bad ass....1942 part 2???
there is alot of material to work with honestly. from pervious wars...Hell the korean war even? but yeah pretty much Vietnam.
WW1 would be interesting. The crusades....but i dont think people would really dig those times as far as weapons go. i would play it though heh

Maybe even the French revolution where you don't have any weapons. But its like sharks and minnows. Sharks are the guys with the guillotines and the minnows....are well the ones that get screwed
lol would be cool u could mace people or snipe then with crossbows
no, BF 1943 or 1944

it's not gunna happen, but ever since EA announced a distribution partnership with Crytek, i've dreamed of the the next Battlefield being built on a modified Crytek engine. beyond that, i dont care when or where it takes place. have you guys seen the screens and videos of Crysis? holy shit. and that stuff is still being rendered on DX9 hardware. It'll never happen, but if it does, I said it first.
How about BF M*A*S*H, set in the Korean war, only two classes, cannon fodder and irreverent wise-cracking medic.
I reckon it's a seller...
BF2 is the first of the BF games I've played so I have no idea. I would suppose it would depend on the strength of QuakeWars as to whether EA and Dice would look at carrying on the "realistic" war type of thing, or drop the line and move into a more fantasy based game using the BF game engine.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Exactly, but not a sequel just a graphical overhaul and the ranks added naval combat would be awesome though, imagine it, you and a few teammates take control of a cruise ship someone drives whilst others are in control of weapons, what if we had subs? But we all know its not going to happen, is it?Spearhead wrote:
